Okay stop, hear us out....the tom yum here is to die for!
Renowned for its impeccable quality, At Bangkok is offering meals which are sure to tantalize your chompers while paying homeage to the rich culinary heritage of Thailand.
We embarked on a special all-vegetarian escapade to show you all how At Bangkok is able to cater for all you vegetarian enthusiasts among us!
Here’s a glimpse into the vegetarian delights that were on offer:
✨️ Tom Yum Soup with Tofu: A quintessential Thai delicacy, the lemongrassiness and lemony-spicy kick was very enriching for the senses and served as our palate cleaner for the dishes to come. This one was sure to increasing your appetite by a thousand fold!!!
✨️Chilli + Garlic Edamame Beans: These little addictive spice bombs will warm up your chompers and get you reaching back for more 🌶️.
✨️Bulky Vegetarian Spring Rolls: Needing a ASMR experience, then don’t look further because these hand wrapped spring rolls are nithing short of a golden crunch! As an added bonus, these were generously filled with lightly seasoned vegetables and vermicelli noodles.
✨️Sizzling Peanut Sauce with Tofu: 🥜🔥 This hot and creamy amalgamation gave us a sweet peanutty and almost a chocolate like flavour. Perfect for a peanut fein but saddly for us the overhaul of peanut masked other flavors :’(
✨️Tofu Spicy Noodles (Drunken Noodle): 🍜 A spicy yet fragrant treat for all us noodle lovers out in the universe...the soft, fiery and chewy texture is sure to be pleasing!!!
✨️Green Curry: Just like a mother’s hug, this was a warm and hearty combination - the richness from the thai aromatics were captured throughout the creamy sauce and embedded into the bamboo shoots and fresh vegetables.
At Bangkok isn’t a place for vegetarians to be afraid of, infact they celebrate the versatility of Thai flavors in a vegetarian avatar.

Read moreChose this restaurant by ratings for our new year's eve dinner. Quite disappointed. There are a number of comments, particularly about the food and less about service or atmosphere.
The vegetables in the curry were closer to raw than cooked. The satay chicken was just cooked (we kept checking it was actually cooked) and lacked the satay flavour! The long island ice tea at $20 was small and we could only taste coke more than anything else. Unfortunately we just couldn't eat the pad thai, can only describe it as too gluggy in your mouth with dry overcooked chicken.
While we aren't official food critics, we have extensively eaten at many thai restaurants in NZ and Thailand. We feel that it was a really underwhelming food experience so much so it was worthy of a write up!
Normally kiwis just dont complain at the time but instead choose to eat it, complain in private and never go back. While weAfter much discussion we chose to say something, at the time, about one of the dishes. After discussion with our server, he offered to remove it from the bill. We appreciated the gesture, although we were really not expecting it.
This was our first experience of a new year's dinner where it felt like they wanted us to eat and leave. Our mains and entrees came at the same time. This might have been a way better experience on a normal night rather than new years.
Overall we didnt enjoy our...

We ordered a good mix of dishes and started with the Tom Yum Whole Fish 🐟 - refreshing, tangy, slightly spicy, and perfect for this rainy weather. The fish was super tender and just fell off the bone. Total comfort dish. 🤗
The Sizzling Cashew Duck came out bubbling hot 🦆 - wish you could smell it, so tempting. Decent portion of duck, coated in a sweet, slightly caramelised sauce from the hot plate. The cashews gave it a nice crunch. Would recommend adding a side of rice to soak up all that sauce. 🍚
We also got the Money Bags 💰, which were crispy and packed with chicken filling - such a good starter and probably my favourite bite of the night.
The Hainanese Fried Chicken on Rice was exactly what you’d expect from a solid chicken rice 🐓 - fluffy, garlicky rice with well-seasoned crispy chicken on the side. It comes with a spicy soy-based sauce that really elevates the flavour. ⬆️
For drinks, we had the Thai Milk Tea with whipped cream on top🧋- a fun twist that made it extra creamy and almost...
