I would be confident in saying my knowledge of New Zealand history is better than most. Mainly because I have made a point of learning this because there was virtually nothing taught in school when I was younger. However, I learnt a great deal more from the tour. He took us to the most historical bars of Auckland, shared with us his huge knowledge on his country & his city and provided great information on the subject we were working on (the six O' clock swill !). Definitely not your average walking tour, it's a lot of hidden stories and info that I don't think you'd notice just wandering round town on your own. I don't know Auckland so well so everything was new to me anyway, but my friend that I went with did and I think that they were surprised how much new stuff they found out from it too. The guide was super knowledgeable and really good at including people and their specific interests into the facts and info.
