I was quoted $115 for a 3.5 hour clean on a fortnightly basis for my house. I booked this in on Tuesday 22 Jan with specific instructions for the clean to be undertaken on Friday 25 Jan at 1.30pm. On the morning of the clean, the cleaner texted me to ask to come at 2pm instead, which I agreed. At 2.10pm, I texted to ask where he was and was given the old, "My car broke down," excuse. We agreed to re-schedule to 9am following the long weekend on Tuesday 29 Feb.
Tuesday rolls around and at 9.05am, the cleaner still hadn't shown so I sent him a message asking where he was. He sent me an actual photo of him on the motorway, advising that he had only just left Hillsborough to drive to my house in Parnell. He thought it would take 20minutes, it ended up taking 45minutes.
Talking about the clean itself, the cleaner spent over an hour and a half on the phone, holding it in one hand while pushing a cloth around in the other. I have video evidence of this if Goodnest wish to dispute.
The cleaner left less than 3 hours after arriving, despite being quoted for 3.5hrs. He also completely missed the main ensuite shower.
Goodnest themselves have charged me the full amount and have not offered any credit despite being advised of each and every issue. Goodnest do not answer phone calls, with the only way to reach someone by way of an "instant message" or by email.
Despite being a GST registered company and also advising that costs include GST (if any), when I asked for a tax invoice, they advised the $115 was not GST inclusive. They did not charge any GST for this clean. This is pretty misleading and I'm sure illegal.
Long story short, this is an example of an absolutely pathetic service hiding behind some slick website.
I would give zero...
Read moreWe paid for a clean and got an incredibly good clean by a lovely lady. She did however show up an hour early, luckily someone just happened to be home. Two weeks later (as we booked for a fortnightly clean) on the day our cleaner was supposed to come, we were notified a few hours earlier that she was sick. This is totally understandable, sicknesses happen and we were happy to re-schedule to the following Tuesday at 12:30pm, 3 weeks since our first clean. The Monday evening before the clean, she informed us she would be there at 8am. We told her this wouldn't work with our schedules, and if we could please have the agreed upon time. Tuesday, the day of the supposed clean, 1 hour and a half before she was supposed to start, I got a call asking how clean my bathroom was and she said "Ok, I'll just come next Wednesday then." 1 month after the first clean. As we'd already paid for the service, we weren't happy at all with it. After chatting to Goodnest (who don't take calls, only email) we tried to be very understanding, and patient, and worked our schedules to make sure that someone would be home for the new cleaner they arranged for the following week. By the sunday, we had still heard nothing from them.
All in all, crappy communication and systems to contact them, and we were sick of getting mucked around and changing our schedules and not having a clean house. If we'd known the whole process was going to take that long, we would have cleaned it ourselves. Stink that they take the money before the clean when this is how they run...
Read moreNot worth it! They will take money out of your account without warning! Use a smaller business do not use Goodnest for your home cleaning or garden care. I booked online to have front garden cleaned up, there is a $29 initial fee which I was fine with and didnt think I would be charged much more than that. It took longer than expected to get a person to pick up my job, no one got in contact with me to say that my job had been allocated to someone. Once the job was done I got an email saying my payment for the services had been declined, they didn't even send me an invoice to say how much more they were going to charge me! They were just going to help them selves to my account. So I asked for an invoice they sent one through, they charged me for taking away garden waste when they actually just put all the clippings under my trees and filled my neighbours bin with flax! When I emailed they pretty much told me that it was the workers word against mine when there was evidence in my garden! The job also took two hours, I'm wondering if that included a lunch break and two smokes because my "garden" is really just a patch of grass that definitely would not take two hours! I held off paying them while waiting for explanations but nothing was done about it so I made the payment myself to the account they sent to me but they are still trying to take the money out themselves after I have already paid them! Do not give them your account details, there are cheaper and better quality...
