SO/ SPA — Local services in Waitematā

I am an accorplus member and was going to book the Sofitel spa but they were full and recommended I check here. I like that you just pay for a set time and choose whatever treatment you want. My therapist was Gan and I had a 90 min massage and 30 min facial. She was soooo attentive and amazing! I get massages frequently but this was so relaxing that I drifted off multiple times! Especially the head massage while my facial was soaking. After my massage I had a ginger tea in a little recovery room and then made use of the sauna which was small but toasty warm. There is also a lap pool, jacuzzi and gym.

Although others complained about the music, this wasn't the case when I went so maybe they've addressed the feedback already. My only gripe is that the changing room is tiny and the hairdryer looks ancient. Not only that but the only power point in the whole room turns out to be right by the door, close to the floor. I had a divine New Life Mum massage and The Designer facial with Minnie. This is one of the best pregnancy massages I’ve had to date. I’ve had massages that account for the fact of pregnancy; however, Minnie treated areas that are affected by pregnancy. Not only did she treat my lower back and shoulders; she also massaged around my 28 week belly to ease round ligament and diaphragm tension, and worked on my quads, which definitely take on a lot when growing a baby! The facial left my skin feeling hydrated and nourished, and I left completely refreshed and relaxed.

The facilities are well maintained with a decent sized lap pool, sauna, gym and beautiful relaxation rooms. I was a bit disappointed that the pool didn’t have a city skyline view as the website photos show, since the spa is in the basement.
