Northern Lights:
No one was happy.
This tour does not worth to buy for couple of reasons. Overall, for the price you're paying, you're literally getting a bad experience. The things that were marketed and advertised in the description were quite desperate and cheap.
It's written that there will be a nice warm (!) dinner and camp fire, the dinner was a processed powder food that is ready to eat with pouring hot water. It is risky, cheap, and they would have at least prepared sandwiches for instance. Just because it was written "warm", which comes from hot water( :D haha), I guess they felt the urge of putting a processed powder on the menu. Perhaps protein shakes might have been better? :D
They have served us coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc which was all powder and cheap again. There is nothing against the logic of serving ready to eat stuff as the options are limited while on travelling, however, this kind of things should NOT BE advertised as an extra or plus within the tour description, because those are not actually worth it. That really made us felt scammed.
Camp fire was the cheapest thing that was lightened up for 5-10 mins and then we had to move to chase the light. It did not make any difference for anyone that camp fire was lightened up or not.
It mentions in the description that to be more comfortable, the minibus option is better since it involves small group of people. It was less comfortable, more ridey than being on a huge bus. In minibus, you're actually closer to other people, lower to the ground so it's more shaky, and has less space because you're wearing the heat protecting clothes and based on your luck; sitting next to each other as a paste at the very back of the bus.
The tour guide we had had the aim of chasing the lights, which is great and correct, however his suggestions and mindset did not match with the aim of this kind of tour and whole group. His suggestions for travelling through Tromso to other locations were based on travelling in super affordable ways, while the audience that he was telling this to were actually group of people who paid quite high money to chase the northern lights with the most expensive option. He did not actually meet or empathise with the needs of the crowd in general. He even suggested us to walk to car cable from hotel as a 30min walk activity because paying 7-8€s to taxi is expensive and unnecessary per his mindset, while we had already paid almost 150-200€ p.person for that tour. So that was really odd in general.
If you want to chase the northern lights, my recommendation would be not taking this kind of tour and that was the mutual idea of the whole group that we've taken the tour with. You can either rent a car by yourself or with couple of people, use the mobile app Aurora Forecast and just check it over there OR simply stay in an iglo or airbnb a bir of outside of the city.
Uber is there for transportation and I can assure you that whole cost of doing this alternative will COST YOU LESS than taking this tour. We all truly felt scammed. This was the highest price / service experience that we've taken so far and we did bought other experiences in...

Read moreWe had an incredible experience with Arctic Explorer on their Northern Lights tour. Our guide, Thomas, was not only fun but also incredibly informative. He took us to a stunning viewpoint on a frozen river, approximately 100 km from Tromso city, ensuring we had the perfect spot to witness the spectacle of the Northern Lights. The provision of thermal suits and winter boots ensured that we were well-prepared for the -18-degree weather.
Moreover, the thoughtful arrangement of a cabin next to the frozen river in case we needed shelter from the cold was much appreciated. Thomas went above and beyond by capturing beautiful shots of us with the Northern Lights, creating lasting memories.
Additionally, Thomas shared valuable insights about Tromso city and recommended activities we could enjoy during our stay. His knowledge added depth to our experience and made the tour even more enjoyable.
Overall, I highly recommend the Arctic Explorer Northern Lights tour. It was an unforgettable adventure, thanks to Thomas and the team's exceptional service and...
