It was a pity as the hotel actually had a good property and I stayed in a one-bedroom suite which was modern and spacious. But service and clealiness were bad.||Upon check in I noticed the poster of a top-floor restaurant with a good view so I asked the reception to book. She just gave me a cold rely without even checking 'it is fully book". I was curious so I booked online and it was available. I called the restaurant and they said my online booking was confirmed. So how could the ceception be so unhelpful. I went somewhere else instead though as I didn't see a point to eat where they didn't welcome us.||When I took shower the soap dispenser broke and fell to the floor. Luckily it didn't hit my foot otherwise I would have been injured. When I told the reception the next morning, they didn't even apologize and just said they would fix it.||I cam back to the hotel around 4 pm and my room was still not being cleaned and the soat dispenser hadn't been fixed. When the cleaning finished, they gave us only 2 set of towels while we paid for 3 people. When I asked the cleaning lady just said 'Usually we give only two but this is a special case where I would give you 3'. How could it be special when I already paid for 3 people !!!!!||The check out was slow and they said they would need to check the room before giving me back my deposit which could take a day. I insited it was unaccaeptable as other hotel would check right away so they sent someone up to check and returned my deposit.||For this whole Norway trip, I have recommended other hotels in other cities to many people but certainly...
Read moreSt Elisabeth Suites & Spa really added to our Tromsø experience, making our Christmas in this winter wonderland even more magical. We stayed in a two-room apartment that was perfect for our party of four, with plenty of space and thoughtful touches like a washing machine. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was excellent—just what you need after a day in the cold!||||The aesthetic of the accommodation was stylish and welcoming, and we particularly appreciated the high-quality bread provided for breakfast. However, the cooked food could have been served warmer, which was a bit of a letdown. The Jacuzzi and spa facilities were enjoyable and added a nice touch of luxury to our stay.||||The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our visit, always going out of their way to assist us. That said, the Christmas buffet was disappointing. We had expected a full buffet with a variety of dishes but instead were served a three-course sit-down meal. The desserts, in particular, fell short of expectations. We shared our feedback with the staff, who were understanding, but it did dampen our festive experience.||||Another odd aspect of our stay was discovering that no food was available at the hotel on the Sunday evening of our arrival—or on Monday. This was unexpected and left us scrambling for alternatives.||||Overall, the accommodation itself was lovely, and many aspects of our stay were memorable in a positive way. With some tweaks to the dining experience, this could easily become a top-tier choice for...
Read moreWe booked the St Valentine's special sauna/spa and dinner deal. The sauna/spa was nice, but nothing special. The spa area was clean and comfortable, but lacked a dry sauna. The public swimming pool/sauna in Tromso was much better at a fraction of the cost. What really let us down was the "special" St Valentine's day dinner. The dinning room had great views over the city, but there was little charm or luxury to the decour. It was Spartan, which goes against the very principle of luxury. The service staff were pleasant and chatty and I cannot fault their attention to us. The dinner was a bitter disappointment. The starter was meagre and pointless. The main dish was a reindeer roast with a few vegetables in a sauce. The meat was overcooked, dry and tough. They offered us a welcome drink, then overcharged for top-ups and a single glass of wine. They didn't offer any alternatives to the fixed menu despite us having had reindeer the night before (it must be the only cheap meat available in Tromso). They charged us for stale, sliced bread, straight out of the cooler. They confused the bill on the way out and gave us the tab for the large table adjacent to ours. They even tried to charge me for the teaspoonful of dregs offered by the licensed sommelier, but relented when I gagged at the size of our bill. At nearly £140/per head, we could have done much...
