MS Polstjerna — Attraction in Tromsø

This is genuinely a great place to come for a an hour or two. I’ve never been to a museum where you can get so in touch with the exhibit. This is an old boat used to hunt seals, it’s very matter of fact and aims to teach you the reality of what these hunters went through. I loved being able to experience the boat fully, sitting in the kitchen, sleeping in the beds, going below deck, going into the main navigation room and pressing all the buttons! It’s refreshing they let you do that and the experience is amazing because of it!! Eine seltene Möglichkeit ein betagtes Schiff, dasüber Jahrzehnte seinen Dienst im Arktischen Meer bei der Robbenjagt versehen hat. In Kombination mit der mehrseitigen Beschreibung von der Entstehung des Schiffes, das Bordleben sowie die Arbeit der Robbenjagt und der Verwertung der Fänge sowie einem Einblick in das der Schiffsangehörigen (absolut lesenswert in Englisch - leider keine deutsche Übersetzung vorliegend). Die Zeit fürs Durchlesen sollte man sich nehmen. Die Enge im Schiff und die Vorstellung, das für 16 Mann Brsatzung nur eine Toilette und ein Waschraum für wochenlange Fshrten auf hoher See ausreichen mussten, schafft schon Hochachtung für die seemännischen Leistungen der Schiffsmanschaft. Absolut bis in den letzten Winkel des Schiffes sehenswert. Die Eintrittskarte kann als Kombi-Angebot verbilligt zum zusätzlichen Besuch des des Polarmuseums sowie der Sammlung der Universität von Tromsø gekauft werden.
