If you like belgian beer, stay away… Just look at the Rating of Mack Brewery on untapped. Worse than Switzerlands mass produced cheap beer, but with the price of french wine!

As I am a beer lover I had to come to Ølhallen. So me and my Belgian girlfriend did. Yes I learned a lot about beer through her dad, so I am definitely qualified to talk about the taste of the beer.

Lets go to the positives: Nice ambience 50+ Beers to chose from 0.17dl glasses for tastings Service is very patient while you read all 50 beers, yet they didn’t recommend anything or ask what we are looking for. Still good.

Negatives: Price: 50 Euros for 5 0.17dl beers and one small bag of chips is just to much.

There is a 5 beer classic tasting plate which is pilsner, pilsner, pilsner (just to much pilsner for beer tasting!) No description of what the beers taste like (we just wild guessed what we would like) We had wit beer which tasted like water (which sadly is a good thing because we could eliminate the bitter taste of the others with this) The stout was the best in my opinion, as it tasted like a stout, but with more of an alcohol taste than usual. Was alright. The mango IPA smelled like mango not like mango beer like Vermalised by Pohjala from Estonia… The trippel was just a bitter mess… The last dark lager was extremly bitter again. For those who love a good beer foam in the mouth to increase the taste of the beer, don’t! 4 out of the five didn’t foam up at all and the one who did became bitter…

Ølhallen has an interesting vibe to it. It seems they are specialised to produce Pilsner. We might have been better off by just drinking the classic tasting plate. But for us who love beers like Trappist, Dubbel, Trippel, Wit, White ale, Stouts and Porters etc, Pilsner can’t be considered beer as it tastes like bitter water, even in Germany.

Conclusion: If you are not a beer lover and do not taste bitterness at all and really really love pilsner go for it. If you actually like the rich taste of different beers like trappist, trippel, dubbel, wit, pale ale, stouts do not go to Ølhallen!

For me if I knew that, I wouldn’t have come to Ølhallen. Spent your...

I was really excited to go here. As a beer lover, a huge selection on tap sounded awesome. We arrived with our two young boys and asked if children are allowed and told yes. You can get a flight of beers for about 400 Nok (£30) but you only get about a pint of beer. I ordered a number 30 beer which should be a dark porter beer but a light one arrived. The bar maid had poured 13. A genuine misunderstanding but she seemed annoyed when I asked for the correct beer and her attitude towards me became much less friendly. Beers were poured and were about 200 - 220 Nok each (£15). I asked for one to be topped up as it was a 3cm below the top of the glass which was reluctantly done so by a male staff member. At that price I want a full glass. The bar maid made a comment saying "what's up with that?" to him. We then paid up which was 520 Nok (£37) for a small beer, a large beer, a Sprite and a Fanta. No thank you or any acknowledgment from the bar maid. When we left we said thank you to the bar man who was clearing glasses but he just grunted at us. Great pub with good music but seriously let down by the staff. No level of customer service at all. Overall I am very dissapointed in what should have been a lovely experience. With hindsight I wish I hadn't...

I never write reviews but this experience got me really mad. We visited the pub because of the big choice of beers and we were really excited until we got there. When we went to order, the blonde female bartender was really annoyed. She asked for the ID's and one of our friends(23) didn't have ID on her sk she said "No ID, no beer." which is somewhat understandable. Then she saud that if she sees us giving our friend beer, she will kick us out and we are never allowed to come back. I worked as a bartender so I know what it is to work with people as well but the attitude she was working with was unacceptable! We were trying to keep a nice conversation the whole time but whe was talking to us like we were some kind of garbage. No smile, nothing. Then we asked if it is okay to just show her the photo of the passport and she was annoyed but she said okay. You should think twice before going there if you don't want this person to ruin the whole vibe of the night. I recommend changing the staff so things like this can be resolved in a human way and people won't feel like garbage when talking to the...

We were here on Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. My Partner took Lemon Cider (tastes like lemon Soda) and white wine (pretty good). I took a couple of beer. The pub has a proper vibe and you can feel that it’s very old. They offer a lot of different options, so we hoped for some help by choosing smth for our taste. First we got to the older, blonde lady. Unfortunately she was kinda rude and acted pissed after we asked if they have smth else then beer. She even bumped into other guests and pushed us aside, while going to our place, made us and others spill their drinks. Maybe she had a bad day, but you can’t act like that during doing your job. Our second order we took from the young guy, he was very nice and helped us choosing drinks for our taste. Unfortunately they only offer Chips and peanuts as snacks. Maybe that’s a thing here, not to offer much snacks. In total it was a nice evening and I hope the lady just had a bad day, instead of doing her usual behaviour.

I recently visited Olhallen microbrewery and was blown away by the amazing selection of beer they offer! With 50 different choices of beer, there was something for every taste and preference. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. One of the things I loved most about Olhallen was the opportunity to make my own flight of stouts. I'm a big fan of stouts, and being able to try a variety of them in one sitting was a dream come true! Each stout was unique and flavorful, and I appreciated the opportunity to try so many different varieties. Overall, I would highly recommend Olhallen to any beer lover looking for a great selection of beer and a fun and friendly atmosphere. The ability to make your own flight of stouts is a truly unique and exciting experience that sets Olhallen apart from other microbreweries. I can't wait to visit again and try even more of their delicious beer!
