Me and my friend did this tour which of s the guided snowshoe. Absolute waste of time.
I thought that the guide Thomas was not very considerate. He only had one photo stop at the view point. As a result me and my friend had to take our own photos and catch up with the rushed pace of the group. This made us feel stressed. I also note that there were elderly members in the group and as a result he should have slowed down especially when we are going down slopes. As a result of him being so rushed, the elderly woman actually fell twice and he was unbothered by it the first time around and only realised it the second time because both me and my friend stopped and asked if they were ok.
He also wasn't well prepared enough as he only brought one bottles worth of Ribena to fill up everyone's cups. So the 2nd time round when we wanted more Ribena he gave us 1/3 of the cup which left me speechless. Considering the fact that I'm paying money this made me feel shortchanged. Additionally it didn't help he only prepared one tupperware worth of biscuits and was only able to give us one each. When we had to ask him to give us more he did not have enough and so I got only 2 biscuits in total.
Considering the expensive price of this tour I would seriously ask everyone to reconsider booking this tour and go for...
Read moreI went on the beginner cross country ski class with them. Apparently my reservation had an issue, but they were able to accommodate me. I had a good time out on the lighted ski trails of Tromso, and felt like I had learned enough to go forth on my own with skis the next day if I wanted. We started off on an easy flat section of trail to learn the basics (IE how to put the skis on, how cross country skis work) and then moved on to a small hill to learn techniques for going up and down hills. I was surprised how easy it was to go up hills with cross country skis! We stopped for a break with hot juice and tasty little cakes. Our guide was very nice and spoke English well. Interestingly, we used taxis to get to the skiing site (which was very close to downtown Tromso)
All in all, this is a good place to learn to cross country ski, and Tromso Outdoor conveniently has rental skis if you want to venture out onto the trails after! (And you definitely should! Tromso has amazing, well groomed cross country ski...

My mum and i joined the beginner course as my mum had no previous experience on nordic skiing. She did not learn well for the first 5 to 10 minutes of the course. Our coach Michael then decided to leave her and focus on the other 6 participants. As i decided to stay with my mum, we receiced virtually no coaching or instructions from our coach Michael. I have asked for more coaching for my mum and the coaching from the coach Michael was "try to keep up with the group". Being left out by the coach Michael, my mum was very dissappointed and felt very embarrassed as if she was a burden.
Overall, this was our worst experience for our 1 week visit in Tromso. we had the whole experience recorded with our phone and go pro and would file complaint with norwegian consumer authority as this is no more than equipment rental given the coach Michael refused to provide coaching and the two of us were left in the...
