This must be one of the worst hotels in Tromsø. At the breakfast there was not a single table that was cleaned. Only one waiter trying to clean up. At dinner the hotel differentiates between their guests. So if you are not on a tour group you might be suddenly moved to a different table in a different room while you are eating. Just because all of a sudden the table that you are sitting at, gets reserved.
When it comes to the situation about the rooms. The room that I am staying at, feels like the renovation was done in the early 2000s or even before the fall of Soviet Union. The bathroom door doesn't close unless it is locked. The bathtub is not fitted properly so it is shaking if someone stands to take a shower. The showerhead is unstable so it is difficult to take a shower as the head always turns to its side. The furniture in the room is also very old and worn. The same applies to the floor. There are holes in the wall where there are wires sticking out of it. The door lock in the main door doesn't work. I the hallway there are pictures with broken glass hanging on the wall.
I am writing this in present time as I am still staying at this awful hotel.
The only plus side of this hotel is the cleaning of the room and the food (only if you are fast enough to get any, as they do not manage to deliver the amount of food as the guests require)
I am not making any anticommercial for this hotel. I only wanted to write a complain as the receptionist as well as the waiters only make up excuses to why there are problems and that its not their fault. It's up to people to decide if they want to stay or not. I will never stay at this...
Read moreThis hotel is basically a hostel. Arrived around 11 AM. Check in is supposed to be at three. We asked when the room will be ready and she said exactly 3 o’clock. I can’t let you check in earlier. So we waited walked around town and we had a friend that was very sick, who basically had to stay and wait at the hotel. At 2 o’clock I checked in again to see if we were able to get our room and she said, the room is ready but if I wanted to check in early, I had to pay an extra $20. Which just seemed odd but fine. Then we waited again until 3 o’clock. At which time she told us our other room was not ready and she wasn’t sure when it would be ready. Then she asked if we her to try to expedite the cleaning. To which point I said we’ve been here for four hours, you didn’t think that maybe it should’ve been at the top of the list? When we finally got our room around four, everything in the room was basically broken, the nightstands full out of the wall. They wouldn’t hold anything one was just completely missing. There were patch marks in the drywall, missing pieces of the window frame. The lady in the evening was really sweet, but there isn’t much you can do when you’re working with a dumpy hotel. She moved us into a different room which was slightly cleaner, but honestly not worth more than $79 a night. There are several other reputable hotels in the area, there’s no way I would ever recommend anyone stay at the hotel saga. The breakfast was disgusting. I am baffled that there are positive reviews about this place. The photos of the rooms and hotel are...
Read moreI travel to Tromsø for work about twice a month, so over the years I’ve stayed in pretty much every hotel in the city. Without a doubt, Quality Hotel Saga is the one I like the most, and the place I keep coming back to.||The rooms are super comfortable, and the beds are easily the best I’ve tried in Tromsø. After long workdays, I really appreciate how good the mattresses are – I always sleep well here, which honestly doesn’t happen everywhere.||The location couldn’t be better. It’s right in the center, with great views of the Cathedral, and you can walk to all the cafés, restaurants, museums, and attractions in just a few minutes. Whether I’m heading to meetings or want to grab a bite and enjoy the city, everything is close.||The staff make a big difference too. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and I have to mention Merethe at reception – she’s always welcoming and goes out of her way to make things easy for me. As a frequent traveler, that personal touch really matters.||Breakfast is another highlight. There’s a wide selection, everything is fresh and tasty, and it’s definitely one of the best hotel breakfasts in town. The only thing missing for me would be a proper espresso machine – but honestly, with all the options they already offer, it’s a small detail.||Overall, I’d say this is the best hotel in Tromsø, whether you’re here for business (like me) or just visiting for leisure. Comfort, location, service, and breakfast – Quality Hotel Saga gets it right...
