Looked nice from the outside, lighting is very muted once inside, made it a tad difficult reading the menu. Like good little English people we went to the desk to wait to be seated, as per the request..... What followed was perhaps a rehearsed pantomime of, "oh yes, well, just 1 minute while I check something" and off to look at a table in the window.... Came back, checked the book, and "yes we can do that table, but it's booked at 7pm" (this was 4.50pm)?? "It's no problem or chef is very quick" (not good or excellent, quick?? So we were seated, the ordering process explained. Trying to get the menu so it was under the woven string type light to start. The orders are then made by the customer at the bar... no problems there, but then hubbie came dashing back to the table because he had to pay when he ordered.... no having a tab so you add more drinks or dessert etc?? Hubbies meal came out.... 10 minutes later, my meal arrived, I love my pasta, but it was over cooked the tagliatelle just dissolved in the mouth. The garlic bruschetta appeared to be unused bread from earlier times that had be smothered in garlic oil and put in a hot oven.... it was oddments of baguettes, hubbie even had a piece of focaccia in his bread basket. Lemon cheesecake was a little lacking in lemon flavour, but hubbie said his oreo cheesecake was nice?! We had waiters constantly flitting around as though looking for something to do, it was not busy, so many empty tables despite the show to us of squeezing us in.... All in all, I wouldn't come back, though price wise it...
Read moreOur recent dining experience at your restaurant was profoundly disappointing and fell far below our expectations. Our celebration for eight was marred right from the start when a waitress spilled soda on two guests, leaving the floor dangerously wet without adequate clean-up. This incident set the tone for the evening, characterized by a noticeable lack of professionalism among the staff.
Moreover, a waiter made an inappropriate comment while checking IDs, further diminishing our experience. Meal service was also unsatisfactory; one order was forgotten, two were incorrect, and a severe allergy mishap with an unmarked dish nearly resulted in a medical emergency. Additionally, finding a hair in a dish and receiving dismissive reactions from the kitchen when we raised our concerns only added to our frustration.
When we requested a reasonable accommodation—a discount for the guest whose clothing was ruined—the response was dismissive, suggesting that correcting the meal order was compensation enough.
Given these issues, we have decided not to return. We hope this feedback encourages a reevaluation of your service and staff training to better meet the expectations of...
Read moreWalked in on spec, big pantomime put on to convince us they were going to be really busy, could do is a table for 2 but we only had until 7pm as it was booked out (it was 4.50pm?) More waiting staff with nothing to do than there were customers, so it meant they hovered as soon as they thought there was a plate to collect. No real interaction with the waiting staff as they didn't take orders (they have to be made in person at the bar and paid for then?! No tabs incase you wanted to order more drinks or dessert?!
No upselling at all, in fact we had to stop the waiter taking our half full water glasses when he cleared our empty plates.
Tagliatelle was over cooked, garlic bruchetta appeared to be left over baguettes and even focaccia from earlier that had been liberally doused with garlic (it was really oily) and then placed in a hot oven, so it was also a bit tough.
Each meal came at different times, hubbies meal arrived 10 minutes before mine. I don't believe the meals were cooked to order (maybe in wrong but the quality and speed was reminiscent of precooked heated to order)
Very disappointed, wouldn't...
