I have never left a review regarding hotels on social media in spite of travelling around the world and living in 5 star/ 4 star hotels where our experiences had largely been very good. We had booked a premium room with sea and mountain views for 7 nights at this hotel and were given a room on the 5th floor where there were buildings partially blocking our views. From day 1, we had brought this to the attention of the reception staff and were asked to check daily to assess availability on the 7th or 8th floor where views are better. Initially there were promises that since our stay was long there would be availabilities where they would have to make minimal adjustments to accommodate our request. However today, a receptionist called Sebastian to whom we had talked to yesterday as well, informed flatly on our face that nothing would be available on those floors. When specifically asked - do you mean to say that everyone who is staying on the 7th and 8th floor at this time would not be checking out till 1st January (the day of our departure) he said ‘yes’. Lo and behold - everybody else in the world happens to have the same itinerary like us - what a great coincidence!!! Unfortunately we are not kindergarten students who would be taking this ludicrous statement seriously of course. And definitely he needs a communication skills course of some sort to work as a receptionist or isn’t that a requirement in reputed hotels? This same person advised that we would be charged for every bottle of water handed at the reception - something that we haven’t found in any other part of the world and this was not mentioned in the 1st 2 days of our stay at the hotel when other reception staffs had handed us small bottles of water without quoting a charge! Housekeeping is appalling too with essential items never getting replaced. What exactly is going on in this hotel? We had stayed in the same hotel chain few times in the past as well but our experience had never been anything similar to this! We would definitely steer clear of this hotel in the future but I guess this would not matter to them, as managers of such appalling services have to be nonchalant of their customer needs and won’t be giving a damn to...

We visited in December! we requested a room with a sea view. Instead we got a room overlooking another room with a dirty wall and absolutely no view, please be careful as the sea rooms are few and far between. All you could hear all night was music from the street, 11pm onwards. For the tours this wasn’t helpful as were kept up all night! The rooms were very hot and due to the nightly noise you couldn’t open them. We asked if we could move rooms as that’s what was requested at the time of our booking and it was our daughter’s bday and we were met with a flat out no! Very rude! the room was quite small given there were 3 of us but that wasn’t the end of the world. the reception staff were beyond rude in particular a young lady who I’m not sure how is able to work in hospitality. She was incredibly rude when I mentioned that there were dirty glasses by the reception area where the snacks and water is. Lipstick all over 3 of the glasses, she told me that it was from guests before us, I had simply mentioned that maybe they should be moved! I asked if there was anywhere we could take our 5 year old as the hotel pub wouldn’t allow her in after 5pm. As you can imagine the nights are long if you haven’t got a tour booked. We wanted to have a chilled drink before going to dinner, was told by the hotel pub that this wasn’t normal and they don’t allow kids in after 5pm. I mentioned this to the hotel reception, the same young lady who said very abruptly, why would you want your child in a pub, I said it wasn’t about being a bad parent, simply their parents being able to have a drink before dinner! I’m sorry but I have never in all my experience of visiting so many countries in particular; Finland and Iceland and this really put a bad taste in our mouths! Norway is such a beautiful country and we went whale watching which was a once in a life time opportunity, just a shame that the staff at the hotel ruined...
