Warning: Avoid at all costs!
Today I was approached by the lady at the door of this so called āspaā. Since I had a mediocre massage in another place one day ago, I was keen to give this place a chance and asked the lady at the door if they have professional male therapists which she confirmed. She brought me upstairs, took the money prior to the massage and asked me to sit and wait in front of the salon, in an open air waiting area. While I was waiting she went in and out passing by me two times without saying a word. At some point it came to my attention that she was taking my picture with her phone. I confronted her and asked her me to show her phone. She admitted taking my photo and sending it to a whatsapp group of male therapists!!! Since she was caught on action, she had to apologize for her utterly inappropriate and disrespectful behaviour and deleted the photo from the group chat but it was already sent to some strangers who might not even be real therapists in the first place. I told her I was not going to get a massage in a salon that has no ethics and morals regarding their clients privacy. She hesitated to refund me my money for a second but realized I was not hesitant at all to file a complaint at the police. In her explanation, she was fully aware of her wrongdoing which makes it even more suspicious why she did that. I donāt even know if she is the manager or just someone who was told to do so when a client comes. In any way, her apology didnāt bring my photo back from who knows how many peoples phones. I stormed out the place and will never go back for sure. Funny thing is, if she asked for my consent, I wouldnāt have given it but I would feel safe and respected so would still get a massage and if any good probably every day during my stay in Boracay.
As I mentioned above, I tried other spas in Boracay and was not even happy with the therapists quality but I never even thought of writing a review about them. I do not want to harm any business with a negative review based on my personal perspective, taste or expectations. But this place is a shame for professional massage salons, spas and even Philippine people and should be shut down. I am pretty sure the GDPR and Data Privacy Act of the Philippines would agree with me.
So unless you want your photos to be taken without your consent (couldnāt stop but wonder if they take photos on the massage bed as well), and be sent to a group of male āmassage therapistsā then avoid this āspaā. If you are in Boracay, go to your hotels spa where you would pay a few dollars more for at least a decent quality massage and good people that respect your privacy. This advice is coming from someone who has been to countless countries, tried countless spas and had countless massages. Not ever once have I experienced such...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking for a male therapist because of the knots in my shoulders and I prefer deep pressure. Incredibly, this was the only place on Boracay that seemed to have male therapists. The therapist that was randomly assigned to me, had strong hands, but did not appear to be trained in proper massage techniques. Another thing, they only accept cash, and they make you pay upfront. I think this is the first time Iāve ever been asked to pay for a massage in advance. I donāt really know the reason for it but maybe they have too many dissatisfied customers that donāt want to pay. I had the 90 minute body scrub and massage package. The body scrub was OK, I guess for about 30 minutes. There are no rooms or even cubicles really, there are fabric partitions, hanging from the ceiling and the space allocated to each table is very small. There was adequate air conditioning and some soothing spa type music playing, but there was no sheet or towel on the table. There was nothing around the hole where your face rests. It just seems very run-of-the-mill, so I would not...

My Thera Zac was very skilled and he was able to hit all points. My pain in the back and neck was gone, as if he just swoop it away! He was very respectful and diligent as well so thats a plus. I also like that the therapist was not chitchatting loudly so they were able to maintain the serenity inside the spa.
One thing I noticed though was building/stairs is a bit confusing at first. Additional signs I think? š¤·
For the price, you get what you pay for. Will definitely go back and will always be part of our itinerary.
Thanks for the...
