Island Inn Boracay — Hotel in Malay

I've stayed in many places and this was amongst the very worst, I highly recommend paying a little more elsewhere. We were 2 couples in 2 rooms. Both rooms were dark, smelt bad and just felt unclean and uncomfortable. The toilet in one room wouldn't flush. The sink handles barely turned and were falling apart. The AC's were really cold, good at first but then too cold having no control over it as the knobs were broken. Having 2 rooms we got put into separate rooms that connected with different strangers rooms and the lock on one was broken to which the neighbours complained that we had entered their room as we tested the door to see if it opened, so it just didn't feel safe as well.Location was misleading as well, it isn't as close as you'd think to dmall or beach, it's a street away down a rocky road that required me to carry heavy suitcases as they couldn't roll.I had to spend the next few hours emergency finding a new affordable place to stay, as all 4 in our group strongly disliked this place - not a great start to a vacation. Found somewhere like 1000% better for 33% more price, and moved there before the first day was done. Requested a refund from them but they refused stating their policy. Location wise is a 3 to 5 min walk to d'palengke, d'mall and beach. But the area you pass by going to those location are, a garbage collecting area for hotels and palengke nearby on the other side, and the open lot with no canopy or trees so it's very hot when walking going to beach

Staff is very friendly, but don't expect too much because it is not a 4 or 3 star hotel but an inn. When the rooms are fully booked and all hanging rack is used by other guests you can take the risk of hanging your clothes in the balcony.

Wifi is available but only strong in certain places, our room is in the 3rd floor, back building and I can barely get wifi signal to work, not in all times of the day, I had to use my data and even brought a wifi dongle with me. So If you need strong wifi look for a room near their office.

There is a smoking area, with tables and chairs and a courtyard or common area at the back which is nice. But there is no restaurant or food available in the inn, but there are stores and carenderias just right outside the gate, their food is delicious and if you are saving money or on a tight budget...

BAD BAD BAD HOTEL DON’T GO HERE, Unprofessional staff and bad key security system. We've been lied to by this hotel. They made us pay for henna stains on their sheets, HENNA STAINS THAT THEY SAID WEREN'T EVER GOING TO COME OFF. Which in fact, i haven't left any. The green stains came from my mom's chlorophyll powder THAT CAN BE WASHED OFF. They didn't even listened to our side. They just said it was their policy for HENNA STAINS being left off, BUT THERE WERE NO HENNA STAINS. I even put my arms inside a tied jogging pants to prevent staining, I didn't sleep much to prevent them, i didn't stain their sheets but they were so persistent I did. Modus to, they saw me with henna and they did what they need to do to earn money. And here we are after washing the sheets believing that the stains won't go away. Surprise, surprise, THE HENNA STAINS y'all. THE HENNA STAINS THAT CANT BE WASHED OFF, as a matter of fact, CAME OFF WITH THE USE OF A WASHING MACHINE--A WASHING MACHINE..!!! If no star rating is an option, I WOULD GLADLY RATE...
