Despite having a heavy lunch after arriving in Boracay at past 2 pm on July 2, my friend and I wanted something great to munch over some catching up in a chill place. And Los Indios Bravos perfectly fit the bill! I've read good things about this English pub and it was on my Bucket list if ever I'd be Boracay-bound. By past 8 pm, we were served the Platter - a little of everything which we thought was just enough since we wanted to skip a full meal. But to our surprise, the Platter was overwhelming for 2 pax - nachos, a couple of fresh oysters, fish pockets, chicken wings, chicken fingers, croquettes, bitterballen all made more delectable by 4 distinctively flavorful sauces. I liked the most the fish pockets (obviously a healthy choice) and the nachos that sit on a creamy specially made dip which melts in the mouth and made me crave for more. Yummm! The ambience was cozy, relaxing, comfy and not at all intimidating (keep the lights a little bit dim!). The service crew were polite, knowledgeable and quick. Most of all, the pub owner Chef Martin was the nicest, warmest, most accommodating and engaging host (as well as his kind wife). I'd better go on a hunger strike a day prior to my next visit so I can have more of their bestsellers. The Platter was a little of everything but it was big on giving us gastronomic delight! Bravo, Los...
Read moreWhat a fantastic place. Been here a number of times, each time the food, drinks, atmosphere and service were great. A lot of places in Boracay have very unfriendly staff, dirty environment, and a complete lack of hygiene knowledge. It was so refreshing to go to a place where the staff were well trained with good product knowledge, and extremely friendly.
The beer and drinks all went down very nicely. My girlfriend enjoyed the amaretto sours, and the double ipa, pale ale and blond lager were all solid brews. With such a variety of food, one might expect it to be sub par, but everything we ate, from chicken tika masala to the burger, to mac n cheese was all delicious. The chicken goujons make a great sharing starter/ tipsy snack.
We went there for my girlfriend's birthday meal, and the staff even sent us off with a bag of ice to make some drinks in the beach (3-4 min stroll to the kite surfing beach ). Big thank you to Joan (I hope I got her name right!), our waitress on a couple of occasions.
All in all, I can't recommend this place more. There are other lovely places to go in Boracay, but Los Indios is certainly the best all round...
Read moreWe went during our trip in July based upon other reviews and the fact that it was next door to the resort where we were staying. We sat in the outside area facting the beach and our first impression was that we were not in the right place. The only thing to reinforce that we were indeed where we wanted to be was a small sign by the entryway.
Upon sitting down we were given well used paper menus with a decent looking craft beer list. Upon ordering, we were then told that they only had two of the many beers listed on the menu. Okay, no problem, we ordered both of those as my husband likes to try beers he has never had. The price on the menu was 280 pesos each, a bit high for the Philippines, but it was supposed to be craft beer so it made sense.
The bartender then returned and told us the menu price was incorrect and each beer would be 450 pesos, almost double what the menu showed. We were amazed and wondered why we were not told this information when we sat down. The whole situation seemed a bit odd so we chose to move on to another bar next door where the prices were much...
