We stayed at this hotel for a few nights in April 2023. The check-in was fast and the lobby is an inviting mix of a modern interior set in what seems to be a quite an old building. We got a Superior Plus room, and it would be bigger than the Superior that we had originally booked – this was a nice gesture but the room cannot really be described as a large room. The room layout was quite standard with a king-size bed, a desk, a TV on the wall and a small wardrobe. There was a small safe hidden in the bedside table, and a small fridge. I did enjoy the welcome gift: a bit of port wine and some Pastéis de Nata. The room was tastefully decorated and was modern! A sliding door separated the room from the bathroom – made up of dark tiles on the floor and some sort of marble in the sink and shower walls. There was some good shampoo, conditioner and lotion but my wife would have enjoyed having a shower cap. The shower experience was good with nice water pressure and hot water – there were slippers and bathrobes.
The breakfast was good and there was a selection of pastries, croissants, eggs, yogurt – basically all the stuff that I love to see at the breakfast buffet. But I have to say that I was not very fond of the coffee that was served from the thermos – but we managed to get some good Nespresso (I think) a few times when we asked for this. I also think the staff could have been more attentive to e.g. remove use plates at breakfast, refill juice/water carafes etc.
The hotel has a gym and small pool and sauna. We did have plans to use this, but Porto kept us so busy that we never got around to it. The location of the hotel is great as you are in the middle of the pedestrian street Rua das Flores. This is a lively street with artists, shopping, restaurants etc. and was quite busy most day and night. From there it was easy to explore Porto by walking. There is a parking garage not far from the hotel that was convenient – but quite expensive.
Conclusion: I would not mind staying at this hotel again and I would recommend it to friends and family. A lovely boutique style hotel with rooms that are a bit small but modern and comfortable. And for us, the location...
Read moreWe weren’t originally meant to stay at Pousada do Porto by Pestana while vacationing in this part of Portugal. Our original hotel regrettably gave our suite to another group 11 days prior to our trip so we had to really scramble for accommodation on short notice during the height of summer. Thankfully, Pousada do Porto came to our rescue (that alone is 10 stars for me). Pousada do Porto ticks all of the boxes in terms of comfort, location and quality of service.
No suites were available when we stayed so booked one of their rooms instead. Our room was comfortable with potent air conditioning, which kept us nice and cool during the atypically hotter-than-normal summer which is unfortunately, becoming more common these days. The toiletries were of premium quality too. In addition to all that I’ve already mentioned, every single member of staff were friendly, multilingual and really professional.
There’s a good selection of food as part of the breakfast buffet too, from sweet to savoury, from light to heavy. There’s plenty of choice for groups with different preferences for breakfast.
The location of the hotel is brilliant too, with many of the city’s main attractions within a short walking distance (either downhill or uphill) and if memory serves me correctly, anywhere between 5-20 minutes of walking. Moreover, there are a lot of good quality restaurants in the vicinity too.
At checkout, the pastel de nata we were given at the end of the trip was also lovely - A wonderful parting gift from Porto before the next stage of our journey.
Absolutely brilliant hotel and perhaps next time we’re in Porto, we’ll stay at their...
Read moreWe had the most wonderful stay in Porto at Pousada do Porto. Perfect location central to everything that we had planned. Only 30 minute taxi ride from Porto Airport (Bolt taxi cost 11 euros).
The service we have experienced from arriving at the hotel and throughout our stay has been exceptional. Service from Diogo, Mauro, Felipo and Dina was particularly outstanding as they went out of their way to make our experience special.
The rooms are cosy with everything you need. The bed and pillows are comfortable, the air conditioning is easy to use and keeps the room nice and cool and the rainfall shower was soothing, it had a separate pressure hose which was brilliant! Lovely decor and a sound nights sleep.
We enjoyed breakfast each morning, attentive service when asking for any drinks/food items and filled our stomachs with both hot and cold food options.
The bar and outdoor seating at the hotel was also a lovely experience, a nice outdoor seating area to sit and watching passers by on the Rua da Flores street with as always excellent service.
Overall made our stay in Porto extra special and would definitely stay here again. Thank you...
