Out of the labyrinth of storefronts in the Boqueria, this is the spot for seafood, truly. The barnacles are what first caught my eye but, I had a flight in a couple of hours so I decided on something safer--oysters. Their offering had won the Medaille d'Or and were phenomenal! I enjoyed it so much that the chef then made a special oyster creation with lime, culinary foam and a secret ponzu-type sauce that I proceeded to mis-grip and send flying ALL OVER their glass display; he was so kind about this and assured me that it happens all the time (we both know that it does not; again, I am so sorry!!). After my spectacular fumble, they were kind enough to make another one of these incredible oysters for me. Don't leave Barcelona without visiting Carmen! and maybe try some...

AVOID !!! there are hundreds of far better places. Max lrice for piece of pinchos is 3€. But meybe we had some golden fish things 🤦♂️🤣For those money 2people eat nicely in similar place, but here you stay hungry. Yes, the pricelist is not well displayed. Read moreDecided to stop here in the Mercat Boqueria and I’m pretty sure the shop owner tried to overcharge us because we are Asian travelers. He quoted me 15 euros for one salmon fish stick and 6 euros for each piece of tataki. Based on my experiences around Barcelona and the market, those prices seemed way out of line given the portion size. What’s also suspicious was that nothing was labeled with a price, so he can just make up prices based on the customer. Stick to the other food stalls that charge much lower prices...
