After leaving my review, I received a standard answer ( not sure if it was computer generated) they asked me to reply to their customer service, which I did. Here is what I wrote:
Hi, I left you a one star review on Google and expected a reply from you in regards to this review. You gave me the standard answer to all negative feedback. So I have no idea if you even read my review, or you just have an automatic reply in the system.
We had lunch, for the first time in your restaurant. The first impression was that it was a little bit cold atmosphere, but then, what can you expect in a shopping mall? It took a while to convince the waiter that we wanted to have a paper menu, rather than the phone one, but he was polite and respectful and brought us one. We both ordered a different main course from the menu. And a beer each. To start with the beer, it was little and flat, not cold. 20ml at the most. Then the food arrived, we both had to look for the meat/ chicken. About 7 pieces in each dish, and with a bit of effort we could find some vegetables as well. Lots of noodles, I give you that. We both were surprised. Upon tasting our dishes, it was bland, if not tasteless. That @ around 13€ per dish and another 2€ and something, for the " beer " made me decide to go elsewhere. The staff, who clearly saw that we were not impressed, didn't even try to make up for our disappointment, even after telling them. They just presented the invoice and that was it. I live in Barcelona and have seen most of the tourist traps, but you beat them all. There are plenty of places where you can get decent Thal / Chinese food, where the owners prepare the food with pride of there restaurants, some more expensive, some cheaper, but all with more quality. I don't mind paying for a decent lunch, but I hate to be ripped off. And that was the feeling I had after visiting your place. I wasn't even disappointed, I was angry that you feel that a place like yours should represent any restaurant...

Tucked inside Diagonal Mar Mall just a stone’s throw from the Barcelona beach and convention center, Udon is an Asian gem that blew my foodie expectations out of the water.
I had the Chicken Ramen — oh my lord. 🍲 Crispy breaded chicken, soft-boiled egg, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, spring onions, and perfectly chewy noodles in a rich umami broth. I added an extra egg because, why not? 🥚 Paired it with a chilled, zesty lemonade 🍋 and honestly, this meal was nothing short of divine.
💡 What I loved: • ✅ Super easy ordering via QR code at the table (no waiting for the waiter!) — just scan, choose, pay online, and your food magically arrives. • ✅ Great portions and reasonable prices — €14 for the ramen, €3.95 for lemonade. • ✅ Fast service, cozy seating, and peaceful ambience (not overcrowded). • ✅ Ideal location for travelers — close to the beach and perfect for a quick, delicious bite after shopping or attending a nearby conference.
📍Location: Diagonal Mar Mall, Barcelona 💶 Total bill: €18.25 — worth every cent!
🎥 I even took a video of myself enjoying it — because yes, it was that good. Definitely coming back. Maybe even ordering the same bowl again. Or two.

Read moreI ordered food that was supposed to cost 15.50 EUR, but I was charged 16.50 EUR. They added something extra to my final bill, which I didn’t order. When I placed the order using the QR code at the table, the total amount showed as 15.50 EUR, so this extra charge was unexpected.
When I asked about the discrepancy, the waiter gave me conflicting explanations, like claiming I ordered online or verbally, which wasn’t true. It felt like they were trying to confuse me, and then the waiter suddenly started speaking Spanish, seemingly to make the situation even more unclear.
On top of that, the soup I ordered was disappointing and far below the standard I’ve experienced in authentic Japanese cuisine.
Something doesn’t feel right about this place. I think tourists should avoid it, as they don’t appear to treat customers fairly and the food quality isn’t worth it.
Edit: Restaurant's explanation via email was acceptable and hence the rating has...
