Delight Bilbao Food Tours — Local services in Bilbao

We had a great evening with friends on this tour. We arrived at the meeting location exactly one minute after the given time. We introduced ourselves but the operator did not provide her name until we prompted her after the first stop. The tour inaccurately states the group size is limited to 10. Our group was 16. Additionally, although our guide was kind and tried to accommodate our group, she was unable to provide us with the insights into Bilbao that we were hoping for. Maybe a California native is not the best host for this city in a region with a complicated history. We enjoyed many of the locations we visited but did not have a good idea of why they were included on the tour. We have taken various other tours in many cities but sadly this particular agency did not provide a good value.

Hello, this is a response to Delight Bilbao.

I was contacted by Delight Bilbao tours after posting the review and they asked that I switch the stars to "at least 4 stars" in exchange for a 50% refund. Also, they explained that they have a difficult time providing English speaking guides and that our guide was still new. Finally, they said that although they publish a limit of 10 people on each tour, the August high season is a time they do not adhere to this rule.

We were a party of 5 that very much enjoyed an evening together as we had the opportunity to see one-another. Our group size was not one or two people over the limit - but nearly double the size that was advertised.

I wrote the review because it is important for tourist to know what they are paying for.

If Delight Bilbao had written to tell me they had updated their site description, and they would compensate us for moneys paid for a service not provided, I would remove my review. I generally give positive reviews but felt compelled to give this 2 star review because the tour was expensive and the published information describing the tour...

We’ve had a great day together with our wonderfull guide, Maria. Her Energy, enthousiasm and knowledge about the area resulted in a daytrip to be remembered by. We went to two wineries and each tour had a different approach with very experienced and motivated guides as well. We’ve learned some about the area, the techniques, in a very spontaneous way, while enjoying some of course. Why not 5 star rating then? For us, the last stage of the tour was a bit redundant. We were already so full with all the wines and appetizers, so the lunch after was overkill. Since it is not included in the tour package anyway, I would recommend the organisation to check in with their guests if this is necessary or not. Now it kinda felt as an obligation. We had a wonderful tour with Adria. We did the midday option and it could not have been better. Be ready for 3 hours of eating and drinking! Both the pinxos and drinks selected were fantastic. Adria made sure to ask everyone about allergies and food/drink preferences so everyone was accommodated. Adria was informative and fun. He gave great historical and cultural perspective on Basque Country. We did some walking into different neighborhoods but we had a chance to sit and enjoy at each spot. No more than 10 minutes between locations. We don’t generally do group tours but I would do this one again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend to everyone...
