Terrible Customer Service at the Ground Floor Counter
I had an extremely disappointing experience at the ground floor counter. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and showed no professionalism. When I was purchasing multiple items, they offered no assistance. There was even a bag placed next to the counter that I didn’t notice, and instead of politely informing me, the staff scolded me for placing my items on the counter. I was buying several pineapple tarts, which were quite heavy, that’s why I put at counter temporarily
When asking for assistance, the staff displayed unfriendly attitudes and made us feel unwelcome. In contrast, the staff on the upper floors were much more polite and helpful. It felt like the ground floor staff looked down on customers. If I weren’t in a rush, I wouldn’t have bought anything from this store. To make things worse, the products are overpriced.
Additionally, the store lacks proper organization. If a product is labeled as a “top seller,” it should be placed in an easily noticeable area instead of being hidden with small tags that are easy to miss. When we asked for help, we were treated poorly, as if we were a bother.
The tax relief policy (above 2,000) was also not explained to us. If the upper floor staff hadn’t informed us, we wouldn’t have known we could get a tax deduction. The parking benefit (free 2 hours after spending 1,500) was unclear. When we inquired, they rudely asked if we drove. Does that mean travelers or those without a car don’t deserve information?
The counter staff didn’t seem busy, yet they acted as if they were exhausted. If they are too tired, they should take a break—unless the company doesn’t allow leave during CNY, which might explain their terrible attitudes. I also want to highlight that it's important for the company to consider the well-being of their staff, especially during festival periods. Staff can become restless or disengaged if they are overworked. If employees are not given proper rest, it reflects in their attitude and service, which is exactly what I experienced at the ground floor counter. It's crucial to ensure your staff are well-rested and motivated, as their behavior directly affects the customer experience.
Management seriously needs to train the ground floor staff. Customers should be treated with respect, not judged based on appearances. Extremely disappointed....
Read moreI heard this was a posh department store and I’ve been here a few times. I saw some small plates I like and the price was quite a bargain. It took me some time but I managed to find a member of staff to help my purchase. I checked with the lady if each plate cost $200 and she said yes. I asked to buy 4. Then it took a long time for 2 members of staff to find those plates for me. I was told those I saw on the shelf were the last 4 so I agreed to purchase them. Two members of staff assisted me to the counter to complete my purchase. One of them was wrapping the plates and putting them into the boxes. She said it would take a while so I went to walk around. After 10 minutes, I went back. Both of them were serving other customers and left my plates unattended. When they realised I was standing there waiting, another lady began to wrap my plates again. After a long time when I was able to pay for my purchase, the till said each plate cost $350, not $200 as it was shown on the shelf. One member of staff went to check. She told me that other customers misplaced the price tags so the correct price was hidden somewhere. I felt embarrassed not to pay for it after they spent so much time wrapping them even most of the time they were serving other customers. I find this shop was not very organised and it doesn’t respect the customers for first come first serve, and they don’t recognise they own mistake of misplacing the price tag. It was not a good experience of shopping there and I don’t think I would like to go there again. I also found the staff there couldn’t communicate with foreigners in English very well. I observe some odd conversations (half English and half Mandarin Chinese) between the two members of staff and a...
