Chalema Tanzania Safaris — Local services in Arusha

We did a 8-day safari with CHALEMA in February 2023 and were entirely satisfied with everything: Joël immediately got in touch through whatsapp (also calling us in Switzerland) and listened to our ideas, at one point giving sound advice for improvement so that we ended up with a perfectly fitting itinerary for us that took into consideration the seasonal migration in the south of Serengeti (Ndutu) – this proved to be the ideal place for the most amazing sightings of wildlife! We were picked up at the airport by Praygod, our guide, who - although young (25 yrs) - spotted so many animals and knew exactly how to guide us to the best places. He was a great source of information for our thousand questions about life in Tanzania and a very helpful and friendly young man. We particularly enjoyed the local curries for lunch (instead of the lunch boxes with all the trash they produce) and Praygod even arranged a local Ugali dish for us. We leveraged Chalema Tanzania Safaris & Keith as a guide for our Christmas holidays safari. It was very well organized, Joel took time to tailer-made our safari and was very reactive. We loved the beautiful colors of Lake Natron, the Maasai culture at the Giraffe Eco Lodge, and the waterfall trail. Our nights at Tanzania Bush Camp in Serengeti we’re amazing, straight in the bush, we saw 20 lions passing by after our dinner!! It’s a must go, with so many animals + the great migration of wildebeest. Our guide, Keith, was very professional, patient & resilient. He drove us around for 5 days, sometimes 10 hours in a row. We saw the Big Five thanks to him and countless cats! We were almost bored of seeing lions at the end of our safari…! This was an absolutely amazing tour. I have been to Tanzania and to a few of these parks before but coming here a second time was better than the first. Most people I see they travel in groups or with their loved one but I came solo and I couldn’t have felt more safe and taken care of through the entire journey. My guides name was Shaban and he was excellent. He was very knowledgeable on everything, he was very patient with me, helped tailor the entire experience specific to me, and was just an overall amazing person. He was also someone I felt very comfortable with and had no problems sitting down and just talking about general life with him.
