Gülhane spice shop — Local services in Fatih

We were going to buy Turkish Delight somewhere, at some point. When we walked by this store, the sales team was not pushy and actually just smiled at us rather than aggressively telling us to come in and buy something. We liked this approach and tried some of their sweets. We liked them but had an engagement so we said we'd be back. I'm sure they did not think we would be back but we actually navigated our way back to the store the next day. The sales team was nice once again so we went ahead and ended up buying a ton of turkish delight, spices and tea. The turkish delight is good and they had a lot of chocolate flavors which appealed to us. We tried the mint and pomegranate teas and liked both of those. Honestly, we probably bought more turkish delight than we needed but there are worse things than too many sweets. Gulhane Sweets is a good choice among many sweet purveyors. A great place to visit and shop. Gazi and his partner Sabr did an amazing insight of all things about Istanbul. From the Turkish delights to all the spices, Gazi patiently explained to us the different flavors and what it is used for. We did connect and we exchange contact for future reference. And to add a lil special hospitality, he offered us the in's and out's of buying high quality branded brands which are much lower prices than the Grand Bazaar prices. And if you're looking for a genuine Turkish carpets which are cheaper, I highly recommended his shop. Gazi has all the contacts. To sum it up, he's such an amazing guy. My wife and I visited this shop while on vacation and shopping for saffron. Gazi was very friendly and was not at all pressuring. He offered us tea samples (blueberry-which we ended up buying along with the saffron) as he explained to us how to make sure we were buying nice quality saffron and not wasting our money on bad quality saffron. He even invited us to go look around to compare with other shops and prices which made the shopping comfortable for us. They also have a nice selection of rugs if you are in the market for that, but you will have to ask due to them being in a different section of the store.
