L'APERO Dubai — Local services in Dubai

We had a business meal after our 9 pm meeting, and the whole experience was beyond expectation. The ambiance was excellent being indoors and outdoors with a view of Burj Khalifa from the open ceiling. Our host selected a fixed menu, with 3 appetizers (French Caesar salad, crab salad, but I tasted no crabs, and seafood salad), and 3 main dishes (steak Rossini but no foi gras, chicken with mushroom, and shrimp américain with vegetables but was not scampi), along with pommes de terre purée. The dessert was crème brûlée and fruit platter (mainly melons). The service was impeccable and we all enjoyed the setup that we sat for 2 hours. The only thing was missing was French background music. I asked to pack the uneaten portions of the main dishes and the staff packed 4 oval carton boxes for me to take home. This restaurant is located at Sofitel hotel, downtown. Sofitel Downtown is located right next to Dubai Mall metro and is convenient to reach. Its a fine dine restaurant and has a relaxed, cosy feel. The staff is courteous, polite and very helpful. The food is fresh and flavourful. Being an Accor group hotel, which is a French chain of hotels, they have a large variety of gourmet cheese to pair up with the wine. Enjoy your evening with a glass of wine and choice of cheese. They have great options to choose from for vegetarians as well. The veg spring rolls are a must try. The Jalapeno cheese balls are melt in the mouth and makes you crave for more. I visited the restaurant and ordered Penne Alfredo after the waitress confirmed it comes with chicken. Later, another waitress asked again about my order, and after waiting, the dish arrived — but it was Penne Arrabiata without chicken. Although the taste was good and delicious, the experience was disappointing because of the wrong order, especially for a 70 AED dish.
