This is my 2nd review for Texas Roadhouse. We usually always visit the Dubai Mall branch, this was my first time at the DFC branch.
What can I say? This place is a favourite amongst my friends and I.
I find it hilarious that American cuisine isn’t even my favourite one, yet all my food reviews have been about American restaurants, but that’s besides the point.
It’s currently Ramadan, and my friend and I visited here for iftar. The place was super packed and we were informed that there was a 20-minute waitlist so make sure you book in advance on busy days like weekends or public holidays.
Despite the waitlist, we were accommodated within 10 minutes, and I was bubbling with excitement.
If you’ve heard anyone (me) rave about their fresh and complementary buns with cinnamon butter, the hype is REAL and it’s real for a reason. One of my biggest motivators to visit here are those damn buns (Do forgive my language 😅).
They are served PIPING HOT, and are sooooo soft, pillowy, slightly chewy and sweet. You take a little bit of that cinnamon butter, spread it on the bun and feel that cinnamon-y goodness melt away and into your mouth.
Best and worst part is that it’s on the house so you can order as many as you’d like. So tempting to stuff yourself with these before you’ve even ordered your main meal 😭
Speaking of which, here’s what my friend and I ordered:
Fried chicken sliders, with a choice of sides, my friend got steak-cut fries and a ranch dip.
Small Sirloin Steak done Medium-well, (I can feel the judgement already 🤣), with a choice of sides, I got mashed potatoes n gravy, and a Caesar salad.
The sliders were a classic. Perfectly sized little sandwiches, they had a kick of spice to em because of the sriracha added, giving them a ‘buffalo’ flavour. You can choose your spice level. The steak cut fries that came with were really good. They were well seasoned and a satisfying bite.
The sirloin steak was well-seasoned too! It did have a bit of a ‘meaty’ or ‘gamey’ aroma, but that’s to be expected from, well, meat. It was really good though, and paired so well with the mashed potatoes and gravy.
My only point of criticism would be that my steak was more chewier than I’m used to with Medium-well, so I’d say it was cooked slightly over, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me personally.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the Caesar salad. I wasn’t thinking too much of it before ordering, but it was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had.
Ambience-wise, the place was nice and lively. We were seated at cozy booths accentuated by dim yellow lighting and very American interior aesthetics which were super nice and made for really cute photos!
The staff were polite and service was quick (they kept those buns coming so I can’t really complain).
Texas Roadhouse is, in a general sense, more on the ‘pricier’ side, but it’s worth the indulgence. For a meal for two with so many items (and leftovers), we ended up paying a total of AED154, which is a steal imo for the quantity.
My friends and I used to visit on weekdays after uni for their lunch deals which will cost you up to approx. 50 AED for a full meal of your choice with drinks included. We usually got the classic beef burger (which is like gigantic) with steak-cut fries (also a banger) and Pepsi (with free refill) so that’s something to consider if you’re worried about the hit on your pockets.
Enough yapping. Final verdict:
Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Quantity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value for money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P.S: My pics don’t do the food justice, I will get better,...
Read moreI am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received from staff member Reshmi and the manager, Karen, during my recent visit today. We encountered difficulty in obtaining clear assistance regarding the terms and conditions related to the redemption of Aura points for appetizers.
When we inquired about our options between choosing a free appetizer or the 30% discount on the Blue Card, we were met with confusion and a lack of helpful guidance. These are two distinct processes, and as a customer, we expect clear information on how to properly redeem our earned points. Unfortunately, both Reshmi and Karen were unable to provide the clarity we needed, and instead, we were left uncertain about our choices.
As a result, we decided to void the free appetizer and pay for it, as the process was too complicated and unclear. It seems there may be a lack of understanding of the specific terms and conditions among the staff, which led to a frustrating experience for us.
We hope that you can look into this matter and ensure that your staff is better informed and prepared to assist customers in the future.
Thank you for your attention to...
