Magnolia Bakery — Restaurant in Dubai

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the customer service I experienced during my visit today.

I visited with a friend and encountered an issue when I requested a change from orange juice to a cappuccino for the special breakfast option, due to my health condition as a diabetic. The server's response was quite surprising and disheartening; they claimed it was against the rules to make such a substitution. I found this policy to be inflexible, especially considering my health constraints.

What troubled me even more was the server's dismissive attitude, as if my request was inconsequential. As a customer, I felt ignored and unwelcome. It was my first visit to your cafe, and unfortunately, it left a lasting negative impression.

I believe that good customer service is crucial in the hospitality industry, and my experience today fell short of expectations. I did not ask for anything beyond a simple substitution to accommodate my health needs, and the server's refusal without any attempt to find a solution was disappointing.

Regrettably, this experience has led me to decide that it will also be my last visit to Magnolia...

It was my first time dining at the Festival City branch, but the experience was nothing short of 5-star!

"Mary," a very friendly member of the cafe service fulfillment team, made the experience exceptional.

From the start, Mary's customer service set the experience to a great one.

As I was undecided which cupcake to choose, she ensured she did not interfere; instead, she was ready to offer suggestions, as she appeared to know the cafe's products so well.

The main reason for our visit was to enjoy the classic banana pudding. With Mary's great hospitality, she introduced us to a variant, "cold brew pudding," and explained the difference from the classic recipe. She offered us a sample of the new flavor and asked for our opinion, which again demonstrated her great customer interaction and product knowledge. With that, we ordered both.

The entire time spent at the branch was a pleasure. She ensured we were looked after until we received the bill.

We really appreciate the overall experience at this branch (cleanliness, overall food and drink offerings, and above all, the staff).

So, we visited this bakery twice and I shall combine our experience in one review. So, we had a bit of work to do while our baby played with his nanny and loads of kids at one of the many play areas in this mall. So we decided to use the Magnolia bakery which I might add was a great idea. Their coffee, tea, cakes and desserts were amazing to keep us going at our work. In a silly moment I spilled a good bit of my beverage, the staff immediately moved us to another great spot and I might add in the fastest most efficient way possible. The only thing I missed was a savory snack as they don’t offer savory options, so we got something from Starbucks across the way. Ms. Mary is an excellent baker and decorator, making us special treats for us to take away for our baby ( the mini cupcakes are delicious and perfectly sized for a child) Pratap took very good care of us and they were both extremely professional yet accommodating.
