You’re not just buying jewellery when you visit Nicholas Wylde, you’re buying the whole experience.
After approaching just shy of all the jewellers in Bath - to ask whether they could reuse some diamonds from inherited rings in a new custom wedding set - the service I received from NW made the decision with who I wanted to work with extremely easy.
I had no experience of working with higher-end jewellery before and found the whole team to be welcoming, non-judgemental and empathetic to the emotions felt in reusing my Nana/Mums gems in something new for myself. After a not-so-great experience with another designer down the road, the NW team booked me in for a no-obligation initial design meeting with Nicholas to ensure I’d be looked after.
Nice touches like going upstairs to sit down in a more private setting (not just discussing it while standing up on the shop floor like elsewhere) and the little things, like being offered a drink, all adds up to the overall experience.
Nicholas asked all the right questions to get to know me and my style while looking over some inspiration photos as well as offering his own ideas. He was genuinely concerned with producing a design that was ‘me’, and it was evident he’s experienced and passionate about his job. In fact I felt so comfortable in working with him, that I cancelled appointments with other jewellers I was still considering.
After I’d gone away and had a think about the different options, he was happy to have a follow-up design meeting the week after where we changed the design pretty much all together. There was never any pressure to purchase, or sales tactics employed. It was even explained to me that they offer a period of 3 months after the rings were made where I could make further changes if I wasn’t 100% happy, this to me shows how much they truly care about getting it right for their clients. The pricing on the written quote was clear and transparent, broken down into sections showing me how much was for the Platinum, labour, CAD, valuation etc, which again just instils the confidence in them as an honest company.
From paying the 50% deposit, it was 3 weeks until the CAD drawings were ready where we had another appointment at my request to look over them. I found viewing these so incredibly important to help me visualise how the finished set would be, and how the 3 rings would sit together in 3D. We made just one small tweak, otherwise it was exactly how we had discussed on the paper drawings. After a further 4 weeks the rings were ready for collection. They came presented in a lovely box with a bow, and just the whole experience of going upstairs and getting to open it was wonderful, Nicholas seemed just as happy with how they had turned out as me.
Full valuations were provided for all 3 rings for insurance purposes.
I’m a pretty hard person to truly please. As I’m such a perfectionist in my own job role I, unfortunately, find it rather easy to find fault in workmanship or customer service even if I’m not looking for it. I honestly have no complaints at all about the service received from every single member of the Nicholas Wylde team, they were all amazing and truly a credit to the company. The workmanship on the rings seems incredible, they feel very well made and the little details are exquisite.
I love that they offer unlimited free cleaning on these rings for life, Nicholas even suggested I pop them in for a quick clean before special occasions.
I’ve already recommended Nicholas to a colleague, and will absolutely not hesitate to visit him again in the future to rework some other sentimental jewellery I have.
Thank you to Nicholas and his whole team for giving me such a wonderful and memorable experience, I look forward to being able to wear the full set in a few...
Read moreMyself and my mum booked an appointment at Wylde Jewellers in Bath to have our precious cremation diamonds set into two bespoke pieces of jewellery. We chose Wylde after they were recommended by a number of friends and family and we were not disappointed. Having lost our beloved 15 year old Labrador a year or so prior and using money that was left to us by my Nan (who had passed away three days after our dog), being able to entrust the care of our precious cremation diamonds to someone else was no easy feat. We met Nicholas on our first visit and he instantly put us at ease and was very considerate and compassionate to the sensitive nature of our diamonds.
The design process itself was excellent. Whilst we both had an idea of the type of thing we wanted, Nicholas suggested some additional features and design aspects to really personalise the finished pieces.
I wanted a solitaire style diamond ring with the princess cut stone set at 45 degrees. Nicholas recommended the type of claws that they should use as well as a couple of other features to ensure the diamond was held as securely and strongly as possible in this position; it's not a stone anyone wants to lose after all. I was going to have Lexi's name laser engraved inside the shank of the ring, however Nicholas suggested that he could add the four letters of her name to the prong setting of the ring, one letter on each side. This has turned out amazingly well and her name now surrounds her diamond. I then chose to have the word devotion laser engraved inside as this was her Kennel Club name and is also representative of our relationship together.
My mum wanted a heart or tear-drop shaped style pendant necklace. Nicholas drew a few different designs for her to consider with the final choice also encompassing the letter 'L' in the design. Again, taking my mum's ideas and making them even more individual and personalised. He also helped choose the right kind of chain to go with the pendant. Not only that, but he had my mum's wedding and engagement rings cleaned whilst we were doing the design process and they came back so clean and shiny, a really lovely additional touch to the appointment.
I cannot recommend Wydle Jewellers highly enough. They have made a daunting process very easy and we both now have a piece of jewellery that far exceeded our expectations and that we will cherish forever.
Thank you Nicholas and the team at...
Read moreI contacted wylde jewellers after my local jewellers had told me it was impossible to resize my engagement ring. My ring was 4 and a half sizes too big and was a fairly complicated design.
I had a lovely conversation with Craig on the phone, who showed real interest in my engagement and helping me with my ring, despite it being a ring from a completely different store! He assured me that he would take care of my appointment personally and completely eased all of my worries, without making me feel belittled or silly for having them.
Arriving at the store we were greeted by polite, friendly members of staff and promptly shown to our appointment with Craig. The appointment was a very positive experience and we were completely reassured that the ring would be perfect and that any stresses I had, he was happy to introduce me to the goldsmith who could talk me through exactly what he would do.
It only took a week and when we went back, my ring fit perfectly, it cost much less than expected and I really couldn't be happier! We will be back for our wedding rings and any other jewellery we will buy in the future. Wylde jewellers have gained customers for life in me...
