Today, I had my hair cut with Sam, and it was an exceedingly good experience, and I left the shop feeling confident and happy with my haircut. The staff at The Gambling Man are friendly and kind, and throughout my whole haircutting experience with Sam, I felt comfortable, listened to and respected. For the last decade of my life, I've gotten maybe 3 professional haircuts. Barbers and hairdressers have always been a sensory nightmare for me, and so I prefer to cut my hair myself, but I think for the first time in my life, I don't feel that way anymore. Went in today (October 3rd, 2024) and got my haircut by Taylor after a disastrous home dye job. Fantastic service, very fairly priced, and I left with a haircut I’m very happy with. Taylor listened to what I said, and ensured I left with the length I actually wanted, as opposed to other venues in the past simply using their own judgement. I was nervous about going to a new barber for social anxiety reasons but I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was, and the conversation made me feel at ease and comfortable. Honestly rate very highly and would go back when my hair is in need of another cut....

Great service from this place, easily the best place to get a haircut and beard trim in Ryde, heck I'd say the whole Isle of Wight! I've had a different person each time and normally that fills me with dread, but I've not had a bad haircut or experience with any of them! They are all amazing. Can get a little busy so waiting times might be an issue if you are in a hurry, but fear not if you got the time there is a bar at the back! I'd say it's well worth the wait though. 10/10 will get my hair...
