What is it about the managers of Indian restaurants in Ryde?! Rude and offensive, is this to-do with the normal cliental who dine there? Whatever the case this is another prime exampleβ¦ We normally eat from the full menu but this instance we decided to try the buffet menu on a Sunday night. We were encouraged by the waiter who confirmed that the portions were normal size, so we placed our order. The manager took our order and we asked what pickles and chutneys came with the poppadumβs, he said briskly βeverythingβ. Weβd already had a few drinks and ordered plain tap water to accompany hour meal. The manager brought out our poppadumβs almost threw them on the table with a small selection of pickles without any mint raita (which we wanted for our starters). My partner quickly tried to grab his attention as he stormed off to the next table. When he returned he gruffly replied βI was serving another customer, thatβs why I didnβt reply to you!β. He then said that mint raita was extra, she pointed out that heβd already said when we checked, βthat the pickle tray came with everythingβ. Trivial I know but what followed was astounding, he said weβd need to pay extra for that and was quite indignant. I could see where this was going, stood up and said we were leaving. He continued to argue with my partner in front of other dinners. Was it because we ordered tap water, he thought we were trying to get something for nothing? Β Β Β Read moreThe worst experience of my life. We had booked a table for nine people on the 12/04/18 at 7:00pm , upon arrival we were instantly shown upstairs to an isolated room. Our drink orders were taken about 5 mins later , 15 mins later we received the drinks with some of the orders being wrong. We then ordered our main courses which took over an hour to arrive. When the food did arrive ( all at different times) several people were given other peopleβs dishes whislt being assured it were their own. Another member of our table did not receive their meal at all , and once they had told the waiter they were then later given the wrong dish anyway and went hungry for the evening. By the time everyone had received all their food we had finished our first round of drinks and had been persistently requesting water ( which when it was eventually brought up ,we were given no glasses to drink it out of). My curry (which was supposed to be a tomato based dish ) was absolutely swimming in Ghee , I had to drain off all the pieces of chicken to eat with the greasy vegetable rice I ordered. The next morning was the day I was returning home from the Isle of Wight , I spent the entire 6 hour journey repeatedly vomiting in a lot of discomfort. Just from reading others reviews and from talking to my grandfather who has been experiencing the same things I can see that I am not the only one who has been sick since that night. Β Β Β Read moreThe worst service! My good friend had booked a table for 12 of us to celebrate his new job. We were pretty much the only people in the restaurant and arrived at 6:30pm. At the start we were asked for our drinks, some drinks were missing.- they took around 20 minutes to arrive. We were then asked for our food order at 7:15pm. The starters arrived about 15 minutes later, the starters were nice.The most frustrating part at this point, was that 5 other tables had come in after us and got their food before us and left! We then received our main meals 1.5-2hrs after we ordered... one of the mains hadnβt arrived and at least 5 of the dishes were cold. At this point we were that hungry from waiting that we ate them anyway. The issue here was that the food was inconsistent and we had no service AT ALL. No one came to the table to ask how were were etc. We asked for a jug of water... we received 3 glasses - between 12 of us. The one ladies loo they had, had no seat or bin. It took us 4 attempts to get the bill, 2 attempts to speak to the manager. Overall, I was incredibly disappointed with the service. Almost all the other tables were complaining about the service. I spoke to the managers and I found them so rude (I know because Iβm an Australian) after about 10 minutes of talking with them, they offered us 10% off - I wasnβt happy with the outcome.
