I didn't go here for the clothes , although I have to say upstairs in the Men's section they had some lovely Mod style shirts , and accessories. Lots of things I knew I wanted but not quite why ? The assistant could obviously see my dilemma so she approached me to help. Anyway I went there for the terrific cafe out the back called The Secret garden cafe , strangely enough. What a gem . Walk through the shop down the little hall and out into what turns from a courtyard garden into a large green space with a Gazebo . In the hot sun this week it was well sort after . We sat in the shade under the beautiful , Jasmine and other hanging baskets. The aroma of the flowers was wonderful and was a real treat. There were plants in every nook and cranny , where ever you looked. I had a coffee but my wife dived in with a Pimms. Full of fruit , ice chunks and the obvious tot of alcohol. We could have stayed as the food , especially the BLT' s looked delicious. The staff were friendly and courteous. All in all a most enjoyable time. So next time you are in Ryde , Union Street look out for The House of Zabre , for classy clothes for men and women and a hidden Gem of a Cafe. A gents section upstairs with funky shirts and retro styles of Ben Sherman and the Mods era. The ground floor also has little gift items for sale as well as ceramics and other ornaments.
