Visited this place about a month ago and again recently as the first time food was not good but thought would give another go but sadly was not good again.
Firstly the staff are very friendly so can not fault that. However, I used to work in catering in the South of the UK so know what I am talking about when it comes to Kebabs.
I bought a doner kebab and thought as they made their own it would be nice however the doner meat was about the worst ever you can imagine, it was totally inedible. My friends and I all agreed it was terrible, it was like plastic and rubbery and smelt and tasted revolting. Even if this was a processed kebab meat and something was wrong with their own machine, then there is good quality doner meat out there ie Morellos on Great Western Road are using a high end quality kebab meat so no reason 3in1 could not use a high end quality doner meat like that if they were having an issue with their own kebab meat maker, although I think this was probably their own kebab meat as not likely their own kebab meat machine was not working twice in a couple of months that I visited. Both times could not even eat the kebab meat and had to throw it away. Absolutely no one could possibly have enjoyed that doner kebab meat we got served.
Salad was pretty poor too, was missing a few items, all salad should have it own separate bowls, ie bowl for tomatoes, bowl for onion, bowl for cucumber, bowl for lettuce, bowl for pickled with vinegar white cabbage (cabbage needs to be submerged in vinegar for an hour), bowl for pickled with vinegar red cabbage etc.
Chilli sauce, well they offered me two types. One was a terrible sweet and sour sugary type sauce and the other a little better was a tomato based sauce which had no chilli taste to it and just tasted like tomato, not even slightly hot. Neither could be called chilli sauce. Heres a little recipe for chilli sauce that is used widely by kebab shops in the south::
Chopped onions
pickled Jalapenos with juice
Touch of salt Extra hot red chilli powder
All in blender.
Put in container and add pizza tomato sauce (not ketchup) And water to bring to correct consistency.
I give this review to be helpful and hope these things can be corrected as they have a great location just need to make those changes and they will be...
Read moreHave been going to 3 in 1 extra since August 1999 when it was known as 3 in 1, it has not changed a bit (which is good) it has always operated opening hours until 5 am in the morning.
As a student living accross the road at the time (1999-2001) in the former Baird Hall student halls of residence (now long closed and converted) I was a regular and had been back over the years whilst working in Glasgow and when on nights out, although I am seldom in Glasgow anymore apart from the odd weekend I still try to drop in for one of their nice pizzas or some pakora 19 years after I first visited.
I can tell you that 95% of take aways in Glasgow have gone from that time, 3 in 1 is still going, the staff have all changed as its been a long time but the food is just as good.
Has an off licence selection of alcoholic drinks for sale which is located on shelves behind the counter which has always been there and was very popular with students.
Great for a filling take away at any time of night after a night out and stays open longer than all the other places in the area.
On elmbank Street Glasgow, accross the road from the garage nightclub, close to the Kings theatre as well which is accross the other side of the road on Bath Street.
Bakes potatoes Pizza counter Pakora Chips Small selection of sweets, soft drinks Off licence for beer etc.
10 minutes walk from Buchanan Galleries shopping centre via (usually busy days and evenings) Sauchiehall street. About 8 minutes on foot via Bath Street which is quieter, located in an area that is busy in terms of movement of people and is safe to get to 24 hours, we'll lit and always someone about on the street.
Well...
Read moreMe and my friends are NEVER going here again. One of the men who works here as a cook and at the till has no respect for women at all. Went in after a night out and recognised this guy from previous visits, he was not working and was talking to the others. I was with a male friend who was busy ordering food, the worker keep coming over to me and asking me questions about where we'd been and telling me he was drunk and thought I was very pretty, this made me really uncomfortable. When my friend came back I held on to him and said he was my boyfriend in the hope this man would leave me alone, instead he wrapped his arms around me and spoke to my friend saying how lucky he was and he really wanted me. He then grabbed and squeezed me inappropriately, I felt horribly uncomfortable and sick, I left straight after in tears. None of the other workers interviened or said anything to their...
