Update My original review remains below
However, oh my, how times have changed this venue to the determent of a once great establishment. Unfortunately Sleazy's has lost its welcoming and exciting appeal. It's actually like going to one of those 'Karen' establishments nowadays, the staff seem detached, disinterested even, and there's a creeping arrogance that leaves you feeling like an unwanted distraction. It's noticeably lighter on customers, and this comes as no great surprise. My wife and I were out celebrating our anniversary (a few days early), and just wanted to chill, reminisce, and enjoy ourselves. Up until we entered Sleazy's we were having a wonderful time. We grabbed ourselves a wee table, just happy in our own wee world, however it quickly became clear that the vibes in Sleazy's was miles off. As mentioned staff members just constantly on their phones, no jovial interaction, just (eventually) a dour, 'What ye wanting?'. Okay, I thought, not great, but so what, let's just get back to having a wonderful night. Next time I'm at the bar, I'm by myself waiting for approx 5 minutes, no other customer, when the bar staff could be bothered to serve me, I asked why the ponderous service, and wondered that maybe they didn't notice me? I was met with a scoul and shrug of the shoulders. From that point on the customer service became pretty passive-aggressive. The situation became unbearable, and it was just a horrible experience. On our departure, another member of staff approached us and suggested we return early the next day and raise a complaint, and I appreciated that act, however I just felt like it would fall on deaf ears. Sleazy's is not the buzzing, exciting and welcoming place it once was, which is a great shame, and we won't be back! 1.5â
One of the best bars and music venues in Glasgow. An inviting and unique atmosphere. Like catching lightning in a bottle. If you're visiting Glasgow this should be on your list of legendary places to visit. Live music downstairs from 7pm most evenings. Bar opens...
Read moreReally need to become more aware of whatâs going on at the bar upstairs. I was in Scotland for the first time ever celebrating a friends engagement, there were 3 of us waiting to order and a random bloke pushed into the queue at the bar jumping and being a nuisance.
Immediately the woman behind the bar said âget all these 4 outâ. So due to the actions of one bloke we donât even know we were labelled and asked to leave. We were very calm and collected and when we originally ordered we sat back down to our tables and was polite to all the staff and kept ourselves to ourselves, I even offered the staff at the front if they wanted a redbull as youâre kind to the staff where I come from as respect goes both ways, unfortunately not here. I have a very bad level of social anxiety and i never go to bars or club scenes so the last thing I would want to be doing is causing issues in these places, I was actually struggling being stood at the bar in the first place. Even one of the security said how she was being unreasonable but we were asked to leave....
Read moreNice enough bar, but the door staff really let it down, especially the blonde female steward. My friends and I had been in for one round, went out for a cigarette and one of my friends was told he was too drunk to come back in. Heâd just finished work and was on his first pint. My other friend left to go to the shop, which he said to the door staff and was refused entry when he tried to come back. We all work In hospitality so I understand that itâs the stewardâs job to be vigilant, but it seems as if she was knocking folk back for no reason as we watched a few other people try to get in and were denied. It was 9pm on a Monday so wasnât like it was super busy inside. Iâve heard great things about this pub but this experience has really put me off...
