I love visiting the Pyramid Gallery in York and I have been buying items from them for many years, if you've missed it, you've missed a treat. I particularly love the bronzes and a local artist called Kate Pettitt who paints the most beautiful local landscapes, I have managed to buy one of her original paintings from The Pyramid Gallery. The selection of sculpture, glass, painting, jewellery and other art forms is amazing and very individual, many items are by local artists and all beautiful. They change the displays on a regular basis and often have artists in the gallery. Terry and the other staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about everything in the gallery. Some pieces are available to buy by art loan, which means I can buy more expensive art works, bonus that you don't pay interest!!!! Something for everyone with prices to suit all. I love this shop and as a York resident it is the shop I have bought from more than any other. I have been visiting for years and I have purchased various prints by Helen Hanson and others, and gifts from the gallery to give as presents. My wedding ring, some amazing glass and a lovely necklace by Katie Stone are from Pyramid Gallery. It is a very special place to browse, and although may look small from the street it hosts a large variety of jewellery, art and other gorgeous items. Housed in a tiny building of great character, it is truly an art treasure trove of jewellery, paintings, ceramics and glass, covering a great range of styles and tastes. It's the best place in York to buy a generous and unique gift, it's a place just to visit and always find something new.
