Having completed over 30 escape rooms as a team and only failing one before, we approached Lock and Rock with high expectations. While we see potential in this room, there were several issues that made the experience less enjoyable and more frustrating.
Firstly, the room's setup had some technical problems. One appliance ran out of batteries mid-game, and getting the required information from it was a challenge since it kept switching off. Some dials were fiddly, and their numbers didn’t align accurately, causing us to lose a significant amount of time. The lighting in the room was dim, making it difficult to read the numbers on padlocks, which added unnecessary strain.
The biggest challenge, however, was the lack of clarity in the instructions. Even with our experience, we struggled to figure out what needed to be done next. The clues felt cryptic, and the flow of the game was not intuitive, which detracted from the overall experience. Unfortunately, we failed to complete this room—a rare occurrence for us—but it was more due to unclear objectives than the challenge itself.
What left a particularly sour note was the lack of a proper debrief at the end. When we've failed an escape room before, the host would walk us through what went wrong and explain how to complete it. This wasn’t the case here. It felt like the staff might have been trying to push us to book the room again, but without any resolution or guidance, that isn’t something we’d consider.
In summary, while Lock and Rock is a hard escape room with potential, it needs several improvements. Better maintenance, clearer instructions, and a more engaging post-game experience would make this a much more enjoyable challenge for...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I did the lift themed escape room this afternoon and we both loved it! Both Tom and the lovely lady who greeted us as we got there were very good hosts, and Tom knew just how much of a clue to give us if we found ourselves stuck. For instance, one task saw us figuring out a sequence of numbers, I had misread the last part and as a result we believed we had to do the whole task again in a different way. Of course this would have lead us to the wrong sequence entirely, when all we were missing was the last number. Tom made sure to let us know that we had just the last part to do again. The escape room itself was great, with a whole range of tasks. The room was small but the creativity of the tasks made it much more enjoyable than some of the bigger escape rooms we have done in the past. We would both definitely recommend coming here! An...
Read moreWas absolutely amazing, the host Kensa was very detailed in explaining the story line and very friendly; the escape room we chose was the lift. So many puzzles which put our minds at a fast action paced timed outcome. The puzzles were challenging and rewarding when completing them at each stage. The equipment used during the escape room event was surprisingly good and little torches helped give the lift a good atmosphere with nice audio effects. Would definitely go again to their other escape room’s and highly...
