Mawi Cafe — Restaurant in London

As locals were always looking for a nice place to bring our laptops and work. We found this little place and will return.

The coffee is really good, the orange cake tastes AMAZING (so good we had 2 slices)! And it’s just a nice little place. It is quite small so the trouble is that you can hear everyone’s conversations, but with headphones it’s not a problem.

I think the staff could have a little better customer service. The guy who served us was a little quiet and we weren’t greeted and spoken to, just literally took our order and then told us when it was ready. So we had to collect it from the counter (even though he had no customers), and he just sat down on a chair. It would have been nice for them to bring the drinks. Also drinks were in paper cups (even though we were seated inside) and cake was served on a napkin (no plate). I definitely would like to drink from a cup and saucer and have a plate for my cake if I’m paying nearly £5 for one slice of cake. Next time we would like some pottery to eat and drink from please ☺️

But overall it was nice. The selection of cakes is great and we struggled to choose. Honestly the cake is yummy! We like the decor and there’s plugs for remote working. We will be back and...

This cafe is a haven! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm aroma of fresh-baked goods and the inviting hum of conversation. The music creates a perfect ambiance for relaxing, catching up with friends, or even getting some work done.

They offer a surprisingly wide selection of food for a cafe, and the quality is top-notch. I had the toasted bagel with eggs and avocado, and it was delicious. The omelette was perfectly cooked, and the crispy bagel added a great textural contrast. My flat white was excellent – you could really taste the coffee (no burnt beans here!).

My partner, who has a sweet tooth, loved the blueberry bread but with salted butter (got it at home).

Beyond the delicious food and drinks, the staff truly shines. They're friendly and welcoming, and it seems they know many regulars by name and their preferences. It creates a warm and familiar atmosphere.

I'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this cafe!

Avoid like the plague!

First, I waited like 10 minutes to make an order while the staff was just standing behind the counter, doing nothing, he found time to make a coffee for the owner of the coffee shop coming in and going out but I was still waiting.

Then, more importantly, I ordered a coffee with oat milk and they served me coffee with dairy. Luckily, I don’t have severe dairy allergy but it all takes one mistake to kill someone with this kind of service.

I asked for 2 table spoon of honey in my coffee, there wasn’t any. When the staff gave me the coffee, I specifically asked if they added honey, he said yes. But there wasn’t any honey in the coffee. Again, all that time, he didn’t take any other orders. So it’s not a busy time mistake.

Lastly, I saw a MICE running around on the floor! If there is one mice you see during the day, running around, this clearly indicates a rodent...
