Wowser - personal service * charming * well presented * quirky * relaxing and comfortable * and that's just the staff. There's no shortage of anything here, fantastic range of books, beautifully arranged displays, great signage, comfy seats, reading area, fun extras in the decor - even moomim stickers on the fire door - loyalty features, gift wrapping/ cards etc, and last but not least wooden floors( triple hurrah !!! )so you catch the resonance of your footfall as you browse. The biggest reward of all was l got what l came in for which was a copy of ' The Mouse and his Child ' by Russell Hoban, a much loved serial book for my 7 yr old granddaughter who's an advanced reader and still loves being read to. It's a charming tale of Xmas toy travels and tribulation. Visit the shop and buy a copy, buy anything - you won't be disappointed. Plus taking other people with you, whether children, family, partners or friends makes for a delightful experience you shouldn't...

The shop has a great selection of interesting books. Spread over 3 floors with the Americas on the bottom, Europe/Russian on the mid floor, while the UK separate on the third floor. Which in itself is fine, yet Ireland was confined into a small section of the UK floor and not on the mid floor with every other EU country. Yet when I highlighted this to the shop manager, he was very dismissive saying that the shop was arranged geographically and not politically. After asked where else would I put Ireland, when I suggested on the mid level along with other EU countries. Again he was dismissive, saying thats political. Its a lovely shop but I wont...
