Townhouse Nail Salon, Notting Hill — Local services in London

I’ve been going to townhouse for a few months because they do take care of your nails (ie cuticles, not using electric nail file), it’s clean and a nice vibe.

However the service is a bit hit and miss for the price that townhouse charge compared to other nail salons. You can see it’s starting to become more about profit rather than service.

My first appointment here was excellent really great care given to my nails and so worth the price but since then it’s gone downhill.

The majority of technicians are kind and good at what they do but because of the overbookings you can end up having a rushed service and I’ve ended up with cut skin under my nails from filing.

I booked for a mani - pedi today and had to wait 30 minutes between each service while new customers were served - not something you’d expect from a ‘premium’ salon and with no offer of a complimentary drink during the wait to apologise (it’s 30 degrees today). The actual pedicure was very basic and anything else (repairs, callus removal) is an extra fee on top of the £50+ you already pay.

I don’t think this is the fault of the technicians but the overbooking on the systems which means they rush your appointment or you have to wait. End result is a mediocre finish, decent nail care and an expensive bill.

Overall I think I’ll go somewhere else for my nails now until townhouse can improve their service / reduce overbookings if I’m going to paying £100+ for gel...

Nails don’t look professionally done, mani and pedi smudged on leaving as can’t use contactless to pay for add-on services that aren’t pre booked and no quick dry spray or fans. Lady who did nails cut me on ring finger and have two red gauge marks at cuticles on two other fingers. Tried to overcharge me for gel polish when I had normal polish. No moisturiser put on feet until I pointed out white chalky look from use of too much acetone (can see in photos). There for two hours and asked for glass of tap water as pregnant and started to overheat, not feeling well- told they don’t have that. Negativity from staff to each other and to clients - not a nice vibe. Wouldn’t recommend. Shame as location looks good and has luxury first impression but standard way...

No possibility to add on service that weren’t pre-booked. I booked gel manicure and once I got there I decided to go for BIAB gel as it’s stronger, the lady working there said she wasn’t trained to do this type of gel, after she filed my nails they all had different shapes so I had to tell her to make them short so the difference with shape is not that visible…i never had tears in my eyes while nails appointment…this appointment was supposed to take 40 min and it took her 1.5h… i did get discount and manager was very nice however I can’t recommend this place. Very unprofessional and undertrained.

When making booking there should be information that someone is less experienced and charge less for treatment with...
