“1. Our Coke is priced at £3.50, not £2.50, and this is clearly displayed on both our till system and the price board. Therefore, any suggestion of false advertising is unfounded.”
A correction to my original post, list says SOFT DRINKS price from £2.50. My mistake I missed the ‘from’ and assumed soft drinks were £2.50 however the price board does not display a clear price for a can of coke.
“2. The price for two scoops of gelato is £5.50, not £6.00, as you mentioned in your review.”
As clearly shown on the price list outside price for 2 scoops is £6.
I’ve attached the pictures taken today , Saturday 13th July.
Edited in response to Unico Gelato’s response: You replied : Our Coke is priced at £3.50, not £2.50, and this is clearly displayed on both our till system and the price board. Therefore, any suggestion of false advertising is unfounded.
The price for two scoops of gelato is £5.50, not £6.00, as you mentioned in your review.
We have full confidence in the professionalism and integrity of our staff. We do not tolerate any accusations of overcharging or dishonest practices.
The list outside the Unico Gelato at Holland Park has soft drinks £2.50, 1 scoop £3.50, 2 scoops £6 and 3 scoops £7.50. Ive attached screenshots from my purchases, obviously they are not receipts but it clearly shows the prices I have been paying £6 for 2 scoops, the latest as described below was £7.50 for 3 scoops and the£3 charged separately for the coke, which may he’s exactly what I said I was charged during my initial review. Absolutely mistakes happen however it was not the incident of one mistake and after your response the message is quite clear. You are implying I made the story up because I clearly said the lady who gave me the coke said herself the price had changed and the list outside had to be updated.
ORIGINAL REVIEW This review is about service and my customer experience. The actual ice cream is lovely, but likewise I’d expect it to be very good as it costs £6 for 2 scoops. I started working weekends near Holland Park recently (just over 2 months) and as we started to experience hot days I treated myself to some ice cream. On my third visit to unico gelato I was overcharged by £3. The queue is always so long that by the time I ordered and tapped my card it took me a while to register the card machine had £9 on instead of £6. I contacted unico gelato on instagram about this and was told that because there’s no receipt they couldn’t offer a refund. I having worked as a cashier myself I know that at the end of the day you know how much you’ve sold and how much you have and any difference would negative or positive would be clear, at least in any well managed business. Fast forward to yesterday I was hot and decided to move on and get some ice cream and a soft drink. Queue up for nearly 25 minutes with a toddler in tow, service is always very slow there. I ordered 3 scoops and one can of soft drink. The lady gave me the can first and then served the ice cream. When I was charged I noticed she had only charged for the 3 scoops of ice cream and forgotten to charge for the soft drink. I have to say I was very tempted to just leave but I would have felt guilty knowing that’s not the type of person I am (despite having been overcharged by them a few weeks ago). So I told her , because she had already entered the £7.50 she asked me to tap and she would then charge separately for the can of Coke. I wash then charged £3 for the Coke even though the sign right next to me on the wall said £2.50. I questioned the difference in price and was told the price has changed and they need to update the sign. Within a space of a month between my first visit and yesterday I’ve experienced being overcharged and false advertisement… now many people may not even notice these things happening to them especially after a long wait with children therefore this business must be making quite a bit of extra cash on the back of their customers. Not...

This place absolutely blew me away. I’ve had a lot of ice cream in my life, but nothing comes close to this. I tried the mint flavour, and it was unreal perfectly creamy with a fresh, natural mint taste (not that artificial stuff). It had just the right balance of sweetness and coolness, and the chocolate chips were delicious.
You can really tell they care about their ingredients and their craft. The texture was smooth and luxurious. The shop itself was clean, cozy, and had great vibes, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The brunette lady was so sweet and even let me try a couple of flavours, I will go back to get her name. This is my number one treat in...
Read moreNot happy at all with how I was just treated at this place. Normally, we love it and come often, but today the girl who served me clutched onto the gelato after she served me as if she didn’t trust that I was going to pay!
To make matters worse, once I had even tapped my card and paid she asked me to wait to make sure that the payment had gone through! Again looking at me as if I’m someone who wouldn’t pay…
Very insulting, as I’m not a kid or the sort of person who wouldn’t pay for anything. Insulted and put off the brand, we won’t be back. You’ve lost a local customer - think about how you treat your customers please, or hire...
