On Friday April 18th, I had arrived in London to celebrate my birthday with my friends who were about to kick off their 4-month tour at The O2. I used to travel a lot and am no stranger to London, but it’s been a hot minute since being diagnosed with 2 chronic illnesses in the space of 18 months a few years back. All of this is background context to simply illustrate the fact that I’d gotten lost, felt anxious and out of my comfort zone for the first time and starting to feel a little panicked tbh.
After navigating a rail replacement service via Bus (something I’ve never done in London before, preferring the familiarity of the Tube) around 1pm and I happened to be walking by the Flying Tiger Copenhagen store in Canary Wharf with little to no idea where I was other than the area (or indeed where I needed to go to get to where I needed to be!) I popped in the store hoping someone might be able to give me a moment of their time and help get me back on track.
It was here I met one of Flying Tiger’s staff - Natalie - who was patient, put me at ease with her calm and lightheartedness and sorted someone out who (upon first appearances) would be the last guy you’d imagine to be lost and overwhelmed! Natalie was both gracious with her time, professional, friendly and above all else, beyond helpful.
I phoned her Manager a few days later to relay my story and express my gratitude thru her for how she handled someone struggling a little and feeling a little out of their depth. Natalie is an absolute asset to your team, and Flying Tiger Copenhagen should be incredibly proud to have her in their employ.
In a fast-moving world that often impacts how we treat one another as human beings, it’s amazing what one small kindness can do for others. I remained mindful of that and paid it forward during my stay talking to strangers on the Bus and reminding myself that we can all make a difference to someone else’s day.
Thank you Natalie! 🫂...
Read moreWhile the place and the products are just like the stores in Copenhagen, the prices are way above the originals. The most extreme example i can give is the light box, in Denmark, it costs 20 krones which makes around £2.5 but in this store it was £20! If you are planning to buy more than 10 products, flying to denmark, buying them, and coming back would be cheaper. I was planning to fill my bag before entering the store but i left with a bottle of water and a surprise box just so that i can have a few tiger products. If you take in the fact that Tiger is my favourite shop on earth you can understand how much of a let-down...
