I am Obsessed with my ring!

My partner and I chose to head to Hatton Garden to look for my engagement ring having done a bit of research on where to go to get value for money rings.

There were designs I kind of liked from branded stores but I was worried about spending above market value for their 'name'. We hadn't done any ring shopping prior to going to Hatton Garden so we wanted to have a good look around first to see what I had in my mind was actually what I wanted as I had only seen pictures of rings online.

As soon as we arrived we looked at the first shop (Heart of Diamond) and Ramiz greeted us at the door to offer his assistance. I explained that we had only just arrived to Hatton Garden and we really wanted to have a look around first but he kindly offered us the opportunity to look at the different styles in person.

I was quite apprehensive at first as I really hate a hard sell and I like to know my options before committing to anything but we took the opportunity to try on different carat sizes and styles to see what I liked.

Not at one point did I feel pressure to purchase anything and Rimaz was so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful he instantly put us at ease. He took the time to speak about what I wanted and presented us with a selection of diamonds before we even mentioned our budget.

When finalising the style I wanted there were quite a few moments where I was really unsure whether it was the right ring for me, but everytime I shared my concerns, Rimaz listened and was able to change the design as if he knew what I was thinking.

We felt so confident with the sale we put the deposit down and came back to London to collect it a few weeks later.

When we collected the ring we were really impressed with their attention when we arrived back at the shop, being greeted by Rimaz and Salji, we felt truly valued as a customer.

Salji presented our finished product and allowed us time to look at the design and discuss what we would be entitled to do if we had any problems with the ring. We were reassured that if there were any issues with the design we can come back at any time. After a closer look we asked if we could have the setting lower down to make the ring more low profile and Salji also suggested going down half a size - both changes they were happy to do within 3 hours. We came back the following day to give them a bit more time to work on the ring and I was absolutely blown away with how perfect the ring looked. The change was exactly how we wanted it and it looked flawlessly done.

Excuse the review but with it being such a big purchase I truly value the attention to detail, level of service, quality of product and value for money I felt I received. Now I need an excuse...

I proposed to my partner during lock down with an interim ring and once the restrictions were eased we set about finding the perfect diamond ring. Initailly we went to Browns and a few others jewelers on the high street but we weren't really happy with the quality - none really reflected the given prices. So, we explored Hatton Garden and purchased the engagement ring from Heart of Diamond.

Here is a list of pros and cons of our experience with this shop, in particular Salji who helped us throughout the entire process (I would recommend you ask for him if you visit).

Pros

Clear communication - Salji explained the whole process from start to finish and kept us informed of progress whilst the ring was being made. Quick responses - all our questions were answered in a timely manner (communication was mainly through whatsapp though my fiance did go into the store on several occasions to discuss the progress and check the diamonds before placing them in the setting). Listening to my finances’ wishes - for example, she wanted tiger claws instead of the normal rounded claws that held the diamond and this was perfectly delivered. Ability to amend the design with no issues - at one stage we changed the design of the setting, Salji was extremely accommodating and still made the ring by the agreed date. Very friendly - Salji always came across as a genuine person and we didn’t feel any type of pressure to buy. Very fair price! - high quality diamonds for good value for money.

To be honest, we were a bit apprehensive about purchasing from Hatton Garden but I'm so glad we found Heart of Diamond. The quality of the ring is exceptional and the service was fantastic. In addition to this, we purchased our wedding bands from here as well. If compare all the shops we visited with Heart of Diamond, then the latter offers by far the best customer service, and the most competitive prices without compromising on...

A massive thank you to Heart of Diamond, specifically Rimaz and Salji. I visited Hatton Garden over 6 times across the last year speaking with almost all of the jewellers (I’m the kind of guy that has never done enough due diligence) and as I was looking in their window Salji politely approached offering his assistance - no, not in the same manner as some of the others do in the area. I warned him I was in sales myself and not to try and hard sell me (not that he came across as if he would), I had already done my research, knew what I was looking for and didn’t need the usual sales patter. After straight talking and laying out my requirements the guys at HoD worked together and with me to review countless options. With such strict criteria it wasn’t a diamond anyone I had spoken to had in stock. Despite being slightly sceptical I agreed we’d source online and order one in having viewed the certificate and cross referenced all dimensions - all with just a relatively small deposit down and the reassurance that if I wasn’t happy having seen the diamond in person, we’d go again to source other options.

Anyway, a couple of weeks later the diamond arrived, I made another visit and it was perfect. Exactly what I had been looking for and at by far the best price across all the jewellers I’d visited both in Hatton Garden and local to home.

We had already gone through the various band and setting options so fast forward another 2 weeks and the ring was ready. A simple round solitaire with 4 claw prongs, and a sapphire set with engraving either side on the inside of the band.
