I am a huge L’Occitane fan and this rating is not about the products which I love but the service and I have spent a significant amount of money in the Westfield Stratford store. I went into the store this evening 06/02/19. The store was empty apart from one staff that was helping a customer. The other member of staff was at the till. I went to her and said that I was looking for the nail and cuticle cream. I was in a hurry and it’s been a long day and I just wanted to get my product and leave. Her response was “ I don’t know this product. It’s my first day here. You will need to wait for my colleague to finish” I completely understand that it’s her first day, however I know most of L’Occitane products and I don’t work there. Besides the store is not that big and I would think that a new staff member would familiarise themselves with the store, the products that they sell and where they are. What upset me is that she did not even try to help me find the product!. Instead she stayed behind the counter. I think L’Occitane should train their staff properly before making them work in their store. In any case I managed to find the product myself. I was asked by her, after buying a hand cream, at the till, “and would you like to try a lip balm?”. This was odd seeing as I had only just bought a rather expensive product and was about to leave. The customer advisor seemed to mean to say, “would you like to BUY a lip balm?”. This was unsolicited as I made no mention of needing this. I then asked if she could clarify that this comment was maybe a special offer, seeing as I had just bought a product. The sales lady rolled her eyes at me and said with an unpleasant tone, “… no…”. I was made to feel awkward and uncomfortable.
