Do check your bill carefully here. We used to come here regularly and never had an issue but did not visit again until recently. On this occasion (13 July circa 11.30AM), the member of staff at the counter tried to charge me extra for opting for carbonara without informing me. I noticed this plugged into the card machine and raised the discrepancy. It was only at this point that they explained the extra charge was for the meat in the carbonara. I thought this bizarre given I’d never been charged this on previous occasions. I stated that this extra charge was not printed anywhere on the menu and that the only additional charge displayed is if you opt for ravioli. Amidst my existing bewilderment, they promptly conceded. As they had already plugged the figure into the card machine, it seemed they were somehow unable to reverse it on the system and, looking slightly flustered/embarrassed, they grabbed the card machine linked to the other till. I thought the behaviour odd but decided not to raise it since the the amended amount was ultimately charged. I described the incident to my friends as they regularly go to Pasta Remoli, then gave it no further thought until today, 23 July, when my friend reports that she had a similar experience whereby she was charged £14.40 instead of £11.40. When she noticed and queried this, the same staff member feigned ignorance and explained that they thought my friend had opted for mozzarella. My friend reiterated that she had opted for Parmesan and the staff member promptly agreed to a refund. Fortunately, before my friend left the establishment, she realised her card had in fact been CHARGED the amount of refund she’d been owed. She queried this with the staff member who then gave her a cash refund of both amounts saying, “I’m sure I pressed refund!” I had hoped it might have been an innocent mistake but as it’s happened again, I’m not so sure. I’ve therefore knocked...
Read moreI recently visited Pasta Remoli at Westfield Stratford and decided to have a coffee. It was a pleasant experience overall, and the coffee was quite good.
Coffee: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The coffee was well-brewed and had a rich, smooth flavor. It was a perfect pick-me-up and hit the spot. The quality was consistent with what you would expect from a good Italian café, and it was served hot and fresh.
Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service was friendly and prompt. Even though I only ordered coffee, the staff were attentive and made sure everything was to my liking. It was a quick and easy process, which is exactly what you want when grabbing a coffee. They were patient with me since I was an international traveller and my card was somehow disabled at that time.
Ambiance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The atmosphere at Pasta Remoli is cozy and inviting. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee, whether you're taking a break from shopping or meeting up with a friend. The setting is comfortable, with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel at ease.
Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The price of the coffee was reasonable, especially considering the location within a busy shopping center. For the quality of the coffee and the overall experience, it felt like good value for money.
Overall: If you're in Westfield Stratford and looking for a good coffee, Pasta Remoli is a solid choice. The coffee is tasty, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting. I’d definitely stop by again for a quick...
Read moreI’ve been supporting this place for a while and used to visit when they were in the smaller premises across the hall back in 2012. Back then I would get the arrabbiata and it would come with SO much Parmesan covering the whole bowl, I mean really covering all the sauce and pasta.
I came back today and the sauce and pasta were just as good as I remember - but there was a tiny fleck of Parmesan just in the middle, not even half a teaspoon.
I was pretty disappointed but assumed they had to do it to keep prices low, in tough economic times; and to make this adjustment across the whole menu.
Not so! As minutes later a couple next to me - speaking Italian - got their own separate little pot of grated Parmesan to use. Then I saw another customer like me, again, also get pasta with almost no Parmesan.
I really think Pasta Remoli should be consistent and either give everyone a set amount pot of grated cheese or everyone gets the same small sprinkle, to avoid customers feeling that it is unfair or that they are being treated differently.
It’s not like the menu on the wall says you have to buy extra cheese if you want it. It’s part of the menu process to choose your sauce, pasta type and cheese.
I’m positive person and almost never write a bad review, but I was compelled to say something as I just think the chefs or owners need to be fair and consistent...
