I've long been a huge fan of Present Days, having bought many wonderful and quirky gifts there over the years, but the sheer RUDENESS of the man in the Warwick store means I will NEVER shop there again.
I was looking for a present for my husband for our anniversary and also to buy two further duplicate jelly tot toys for my 7 month old son (as replacements should he ever lose one!), I had my son in our pram, which is always difficult in stores as jam packed as Present Days, so I was very carefully manoeuvring the pram through the store, often lifting it up and moving it sideways to negotiate a certain shelving unit. I was just carefully going by some canvas bags that were displayed along the floor (hanging low on a cabinet), when a man very rudely came by and said "watch those bags with your pram" and then tsked loudly when I said I was being careful. Before he strode off upstairs. Most store people would have said "shall I move those bags?" or "are you able to get through there?" or even "do you want to leave your pram near the door we can keep an eye on it for you?" - I've had these offers in many smaller shops, and always they have been given in good grace and politely.
I'm quite a strong natured person, but his attitude actually upset me, so I left as quickly as possibly, whilst still being careful on the way out....
Read moreSnobby staff as they're obviously getting paid a lot to sell overpriced items to the public. Warwick might be a working class town but that doesn't mean we're all snobby or appreciate snobbyness. As I said, items are overpriced, maybe if you don't use online it might be your only option, but most the items I find online that are the exact same stock, are over 80% cheaper online including first class delivery. Over than that, the items are lovely I must admit, but a lot nicer to just look at them rather than purchase as I said above, and supporting staff like this isn't high up on my list anyway. Also, shop is tiny and always full (of snobby shoppers), so you'll find yourself pushing your way back out the door as there's no point in being in there, unless you have a...
Read moreHaving just been in this shop, I will not be returning. Two women behind the till whispering as I walked in, I realise I may of been dressed a certain way (a tad scruffy) however this does not warrant being made to feel like I did. I myself am a store manager of a major store and would be disgusted if my staff acted in this way. Unfortunately I gave this store my custom and the bad customer service continued. Very rude at till as I continued to be polite and they continued to look down their noses at me. May I suggest a basic customer service course? I love supporting local businesses but will now be buying my sons favourite teddy bears from jellycats online store to avoid snobbery and...
