This is the worst game stop in regards to customer service. I showed up and asked about a used controller which the guy behind the counter would not stop pushing for me to get an ugly blue one i did not want. Finally they let me get the white one i wanted where after they handed me it. Then they pressured me for about a minute and a half on getting the coverage for if I break it and when i finally got a word in he cut me off and said "hey, you dont need to justify yourself to us man." To make this visit even better they tried to make me feel bad that I didn't know a certain game had come out. Now the worst part of the whole experience was the fact that when I got home, the controllers left bumper was stuck completely and wouldn't come unstuck and the left stick would go all over the screen whenever i moved it. So I drove another 15 minutes back and told a different guy behind the counter who tested it and it instantly failed. He eventually got the guy from the first visit who grabbed the controller and proceeded to tell me "this isn't the same controller." And after going back and forth with him for a while it was clear that I couldn't reason with this man who kept repeating "I'm not accusing you of anything" when he OBVIOUSLY was. Finally i got a new controller from the pre owned ones after my MOTHER had to call and talk to him for 10 minutes. I'm 17 by the way so there was no chance of him taking me seriously just because of how old I am. Once my mother finished talking to him he gave me the fakest, not genuine apology I had ever seen come from a person and let me know several more times that he "wasn't accusing me of anything." Worst experince I've had with them and they really need to improve on their customer service in general. On Friday June 7 2019, I came to this location, and I asked the Sales member for a new XBox 1 controller. He the asked hey would you like to try the Pre-owned for $12.00 less than a new one which cost $60.00. I paid $48.71 for a pre-owned controller. I aked him prior to buying the controller if he worked? He replied "Yes we have a system we check our functions on". So I bought it. I get it home put batteries in it plug it to the system and the controller dosent work cut on at all. The buttons was easy pressing to say the least. So 3 days later I bring I back to the exact sales member and he looks me in my face and tell me that I didnt return the controller I purchesed. In short GAME STOP in Abedeen N.C by best by and the shopping outlet stole my money and refused me another controller. Right now they have a sale going on for pre owned items. I highly recommended you dont part take in those sales because they will wrongfully take your money. The only employee zack that was working was either incompetent or could give 2 craps about his job. Their were 3 people in the entire store and it took him 30 minutes to check me out. He was receiving a used ps4 and had to reset it. That was his excuse for not using the other register right beside him!! The gentlemen he was receiving the ps4 from even went outside to retrieve something he forgot and still I just had to stand in line silent as we patiently waited for this guy to get back from his car.
