I had a 1.51 carat round brilliant diamond that I wanted to design a ring around to celebrate my 20 year anniversary with my amazing husband. I just happened to find Lonnie through a Google search for local jewelry designers after having a less than stellar experience with another well known designer in Albuquerque. The first designer I met with was arrogant and dismissive - I felt like he wasn’t really listening to me and tried to talk me out of some design elements I wanted because, in his words, “I don’t think it really needs it.” Also, the price I was quoted was astronomical and out of my price range. That was not the case at all with Lonnie. He was very receptive and courteous and took all my ideas and designed the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. He was also very communicative and responsive when I had questions or wanted to tweak the design a little. I also loved that he allowed me to watch and film him setting my diamond into the gorgeous setting he designed. He was very knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge. His staff was very kind, courteous, and welcoming. I’m so glad I found Lonnie. I’m very happy and satisfied with the end result; my ring is gorgeous and exactly what I wanted and asked for. Lonnie’s is a must when it comes to jewelry. I came with two pieces for repair, a pair of silver marcasite cross earrings and a silver ring, both of which contain significant emotional value to me.

One of my silver earrings were damaged and bent out of shape, and two of the stones (1.5mm) were cracked, but the folks at Lonnie’s had done an incredible job replacing the stones and flattening out the bend, I really can’t tell which earring was the one I sent in for repair.

I’m more impressed by the silver ring I came in with. Due to an electrical accident the silver ring had a massive gouge across the band that went through the metal. I was extremely worried about having it repaired because I wanted to maintain the hand-made look and texture the ring originally had, but was promised that the gauge would be the only thing smoothed out. When I received the ring I was amazed at how it looked—the gouge was filled in, and the ring had an amazing shine, it looked like it time traveled back 30 years!

Could not recommend Lonnie's more. I will NEVER use Zales or Jerrods again after this. My wife lost the main stone in her engagement ring. I heard about Lonnie's from my sister so I gave them a shot. Staff was extremely happy and helpful, then as busy as he was, Lonnie himself stopped what he was doing to take me in his office and show me some loose diamonds he had available. Not only that, he was willing to take some other stones I had in trade towards my purchase, graded and priced them on the spot for me which was EXTREMELY helpful. I chose to upgrade to a larger stone which required more gold for the setting which he showed current market prices for. He took the time to answer all my question and his knowledge is unmatched, also he explains things in a way that a normal person can understand.
