I know I shouldn't expect much when you pay employees minimum wage to do outdoor manual labor in the hot Albuquerque sun. I do expect to get what I pay for however. This is only the fourth time I have visited this location and the third time I have had a very unpleasant experience. The first time was last year and I was barely satisfied with the mediocre job my $34 bought me. The second time I brought my wife's care for a wash and wax. I was told by the man at intake that it would take no more than an hour. 2 hours later after sitting in the lobby with no attention from any of the staff, I asked the cashier what the delay was. She tells me that it's going to be at least two more hours and that I was wrongly advised initially. They did give me a gift card for a future wash but left buffer burns on the paint of my wife's car. I came back weeks later to cash in the gift card my third time and got a terrible wash which looked as if my truck had not been anything more than sprayed with suds and not even rinsed. They took it through a second time which made me late to other commitments I had that weekend. Today I had to stop here only out of absolute necessity. The conveyor failed and I was sandwiched into a line of about 20 cars. Absolutely no attempt to communicate the source of the delay was made to customers sitting in our hot cars outside. No one took charge to direct traffic or stop others from coming in When about 30 minutes finally passed and I got my truck back it had soap streaks that had not been wiped away on the body, the back seats still had visible crumbs from my kids snacks, my dash had not had any of the dust wiped away, none of the mats had been vaccummed at all. This is not an exaggeration. Loose sand from my home landscaping still sitting on the floor of my truck. Also the windows were left with streaks which impaired clear visibility. My tires still had brown road grime attached to the sidewalls and when I asked for someone to touch them up and apply tire shine the agent told me that shine should have been applied inside the washer itself. It took much self control for me to not get loud in response to her insolent attitude. Instead I calmly asked her again and said that i would greatly appreciate a coat of sidewall shine be applied by hand. I also had to ask another agent for interior scent. He instead asked me for my receipt to verify that I had paid for it. After I retrieved the receipt from the trash can where i had just dumped it he gave me the scent with much bad attitude. I dont take a lot personally and I have very understanding expectations of minimum wage workers. What I do take very personally is when I am robbed of my time. I work extremely hard during the week and see my family very little. Every second I have to spend in line at a broken car wash or negotiating with insolent agents at the same business is a second I'm not spending with my family making up for that absence. The poor performance of the crew at this highway 528 location is a direct reflection of the poor leadership who supervises them. The location at San Mateo and central by contrast always does great work. I see the manager walking thru the lobby tightening up the displays and making pleasant banter with the waiting customers. I see him going outside and getting his hands dirty the agents doing touchups and making corrections. The company needs to take a clue from the management and crew at San mateo and have them remediate the 528 crew. Especially...
Read moreMister Car Wash Review I'm a busy person. A local photographer who needed a good car wash a year and a half ago. I went to Mister Car Wash @ 3625 NM-528, Albuquerque, NM 87114 in September of 2021. It was my first visit to a Mister Car Wash. The cost was more than I wanted to spend but I really needed a car wash so I went. I asked for special attention to be paid to the inside of the windshield as its pretty grimy and is hard to wash. They said no problem and a quality check would be done to make sure it gets taken care of. The staff was super nice but the windshield didn't get cleaned properly. I didn't notice until I was driving away. I left an online review explaining what happened. I then received a voicemail and email from management at the time who was Steven Cates for that location asking me to come back anytime for a free wash as they want to make it right.
As I said before I'm a busy guy so a year and a half went by. I still didn't have much faith that it would be fixed but I needed another car wash. So, I went back to the same location and asked for Steven. By chance he was there but about to leave work. I asked, Are you the Steven that left me this voicemail a year and a half ago? Showed him a screen shot of the transcript. He said yes! and it was good timing as he was manager at a different location and then came back to this one as general manager. I said, I'm willing to pay for another car wash but would offer still be valid. He said yes and gave me a platinum car wash with special attention to the inside windshield and quality check for free.
I picked up the car and it looked perfect. Even on the drive home. Steven took very good care of me as did the staff. I tipped $20 in the pickup box and thanked them.
Good on this location for following through on good customer service, even after so much time had gone by.
Thank you. Previous review from first visit:
Just wanted to give feedback on my first visit. I was there yesterday mid day and I was stunned by the prices for 1 car wash. I chose the highest level you offered which was $34. I asked that my windshield specifically be cleaned very well as the inside and outside always have cleaning product residue left that shines terribly in the sun driving to work and back every day. The attendant said she would add a quality check on my car and still the cleaning was not up to the expectations of a $34 car wash or even a $10 car wash. The residue from an oil change sticker was left too. The interior of the vehicle was fine. The exterior was ok but it looked like it didn't have the bells and whistles promised with the package. Shine etc. My car is a 2016 Buick Verano Premium Turbo Group in near mint condition with about 16k miles on it. Just wanted to let you know that I won't be returning. The staff was super nice and kind and the attendant told me about the monthly service. I said I would see how you do with the first wash. Just disappointed. Thank you...
Read moreI have had three previous experiences at this location that were poor and each time I've bit the bullet at dealt with it. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that the previous experiences were a fluke or my fault somehow for being there when it was busy or purchasing something other than the premium wash. I went back again on 7/30 at a time where I was one of only maybe three cars, where the employees were for the most part standing around waiting and I purchased the most expensive wash. I specifically asked for them to make sure to do a thorough vacuum and get as much of the dog hair out as possible emphasizing that I wasn't in a rush. The attendant ensured me that special detail would be paid attention to that. Now I'm not stupid, I know that you can't get all dog hair out and that's not my expectation. But when I got in my car and drove away, I decided to look in the back seat at the next light because I saw that they hadn't vacuumed my coin holder and noticed that my sun shades that were kept between my front seat and center console had been opened and placed over the back seats. I thought this was odd but didn't think it was necessary to investigate right away. I got all the way to work and lifted my tote bag from the front seat and there are straw wrappers on the seat. At this point I'm irritated so I decide it's best for me to check the rest of the car. I find that there are wrappers on the top part of the door in the small holders, and dog hair is completely covering the backseat underneath the shades. Now even if I went over the seats once, I could have gotten SOME of the hair off. But the fact that it was not only not done but then covered up so I wouldn't immediately see that it wasn't done is not only unprofessional but completely disrespectful. And the worst part about it is that I had given this business not one but FOUR chances now. Normally I would resign to just going to a different car wash but Mister has bought up practically every car wash establishment in the city, effectively establishing a monopoly on the industry. I don't feel like I am asking a whole lot here, just a small attempt for people to do their jobs. I didn't mention the previous experiences to the attendant because it's not necessarily their fault that the last team didn't do it correctly but four times is...
