What a fun place to gear up for my favorite holiday. My daughter and I came and had a great time.
Terrifying animatronics setup in a carnival themed display? Check. Hundreds of masks? They have 'em. Costumes ranging from babies and toddlers to adults? Tons. Wigs, makeup decorations, and more? Oh yeah!
So here's the thing. Yes, you can just order a costume online, and it might be cheaper - but not always! But... This is like the Toys R Us of Halloween and costume gear. You don't just go in for a costume, you go in for inspiration and the experience. And that's worth a lot. We, collectively, want places like this where you can browse at least five varieties of zombie baby decorations. We need places like this where you have no less than three varieties of blue wigs on a wall with 40 more wig options. We need to be able to see the big, expensive zombie clown and experience the jump-scares ourselves so we can smile with malicious glee as we imagine giving our friends and neighbors a good fright. Seeing these things on the Internet will never be the same as experiencing it in person.
Don't just go here because it's awesome, although that's a good enough reason to go.
Go because supporting this place, which exists for only a couple of months each year, is truly a way to keep the Spirit of Halloween alive.
I personally bought a scarecrow that sits hunched over a candy bowl at Spirit about 5 years ago. When someone reaches for the candy his head jerks up and screams - sometimes! About 40% of the time he does nothing, which adds so much to the effect... Even if you know (or suspect) it's coming, it makes you jump. He comes out every year and has startled more trick-or-treaters than I can count. Still works great, and worth every penny. And the candy scarecrow is one of many fantastic things you can get here.
Trust me, it's a fun, entertaining experience just to shop at Spirit Halloween....
Read moreMy visit actually was about 2 weeks ago to this location. I am a senior citizen and I don’t normally dress up for Halloween. This time, my daughter convinced me to dress up as Princess Leia or a Witch. At first I picked out the Princess Leia, but had a couple of questions about it. I saw this young lady stocking the shelves and asked her for some help. After going back and forth on deciding, she talked me into going as a witch because there were more choices to choose from. I ended up picking a costume that I thought would look really good. She then pointed out a necklace to go with it. The next thing I know, she was helping me for a good thirty minutes. Us old people tend to be much slower when it comes to making decisions. I told her, “oh no, I have to pick up my granddaughter before I’m late!” I forgot to get her name. I know she was wearing a hat and she had a ponytail. Extremely helpful and funny! If my daughter talks me into a costume again, I would definitely come to this location and ask for the...
Read moreRude coustomer service . When my kid asked were we could find a specific custom..the women responded rudely no, we don't have it, no! As she walked away. Then at checkout out when they asked if I wanted to donate. I responded no, he again asked..I again said no. His eyes got wide and asked you want me to round it up and donate it. Then I said I just want to pay what I got thats it. This dumb kid had the authority to said " you don't have to be rude to me, you can just leave. It took every fiber in me not to laugh, I had to talk to him like a child. With the most calm low voice I said im not being rude you obviously can't hear me. I don't want to donate. I just want to pay this. Why you so mad?? is the donations for you or something, I will choose when I give a donation. Lear better coustomer service, if we say no...
