I came in to purchase a smoker and initially had a great experience with Maggie, who was extremely helpful and kind. She assisted me in loading the smoker onto a flatbed, labeled it with my name, and took it to customer service while I did some additional shopping.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there.
When I returned to pick up the smoker, it was no longer at customer service. I asked a customer service supervisor — an African-American woman with braids — where it went. Her attitude was dismissive and unhelpful. She seemed irritated I even asked, and instead of helping me locate the item, she sent me down to the general checkout area. I eventually found the smoker placed back on the sales floor.
I then asked the same supervisor if I could check out there. Despite the area being empty and the smoker being too large to reasonably push through a regular checkout lane, she told me I had to “get in line” — and then walked off. No support, no consideration, just attitude.
When I finally got checked out, the cashier’s demeanor was just as unpleasant. Everyone seemed like they were in a terrible mood.
I later called the store to speak with the store manager. A woman named Jessica answered, stating she was one of the managers. I clarified that I wanted to speak with the store manager. She repeated three times that she was “one of the managers,” without offering to escalate or even listen to my concern. Her tone was defensive and unprofessional.
Between the lack of accountability, rude attitudes, and unwillingness to help customers, I won’t be returning. I had a gift card, but honestly — save your money. Go across the street to Lowe’s where the customer service is miles better. This Home Depot clearly doesn’t prioritize...
Read moreI am having an ongoing issue with my order from this store and still have yet to receive a response from the manager so I am posting publicly while I wait. I initiated an order for front door replacement on January 27th of this year. This order has had numerous errors made throughout the process including inputting incorrect contact info for my order (offensive email was put in by the rep instead of my actual email address), wrong measurement of the door, and ordering the wrong door itself. It is absolutely unacceptable that my order has taken almost 3 months to complete (any other company could probably build a whole house in 3 months). I completed a similar priced project with Lowe’s and it took less than 7 days from start to finish. I am baffled by this Home Depot’s abismal management of this project, I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere for any home improvement installation projects. Lowe’s across the street will do a much better job. It has been 3 months and thanks to this store I still have a jammed front door. If you don’t hear from me in a few days send help, I’m probably trapped in my condo thanks to this store. Hopefully a manager will reach out in an effort to remedy this, but they’ll probably send it to the wrong email… I’d cancel the order and go elsewhere but they already have my money. At least I now understand why Peter Parker yelled at Mr. Ditkovich in Spiderman 3 for not fixing...
Read moreWhile visiting the Home Depot @ McDermott in Allen Texas around 9pm April 6 2024 we were impressed to see employee Dirk go the extra mile to help try to find the item we were looking for. The website showed they had in stock. His inventory system also showed in stock. Even though this was not his section of the store, he worked hard to achieve the goal. The employees that were responsible for the garden center didn't care at all about helping find the item we needed. When requesting help, the garden center workers blew us off and ignored us. Very disappointing to say the least. Employee Dirk was completely different. He is a hard worker that will accelerate with performances witnessed by us. The garden center employees that ignored us will either lose their jobs due to laziness or be condemned to forever be minimum wage workers their whole lives. Customer service representative Johannes assisted in getting a price match on a similar product to get the quantity we needed at the price that was expected a shown in stock. He contacted manager Randy who swiftly matched the price of the larger quantity. These three men were very professional and cared about customer service and the reputation of their company. The garden center workers couldn't even compete(not sure how they have a job since they don't care about customers). Thanks again to Dirk, Johannes, and Randy who stand above the rest at the Allen...
