I recently joined this gym and I wanted to let people know how much I like this place. The fitness trainers and staff members have all been welcoming and eager to help gym members find what they need in order to achieve their fitness goals here. Everyone seems to get to know each other and there is an emphasis upon being a place in which every level of fitness is welcome. This means that there are some people who might be very athletic already, while others may just be at the beginning level of a fitness journey, but all are comfortable in this place. Iāve had a great time meeting a few of their trainers and staff thus far. Keenan seems like a great manager and even remembered me after he had met me just once a couple of months prior to the time I actually finally started going to the gym. Meanwhile, Chase Adams is an excellent fitness trainer who is dedicated to the success of the people around him. That dedication is present regardless of whether those people are attending (and pushing themselves through) a group high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session that heās leading or whether perhaps they are gym members with quick questions about schedules or equipment, or whether they have signed up for personal trainer sessions with him. He helps where and when he can as a part of the fitness center team, which has earned him many dedicated fans. Iāve also enjoyed my interactions with the staff member whose nickname is Viper, and since her name tag uses the nickname, I can never remember her ACTUAL name, but she is welcoming and knowledgeable about the various aspects of the gym that new members have questions about. Iāve also been impressed with Bobby V and his extreme dedication to working at this gym for what would appear to be more work hours than anyone else. He is also very interested in helping gym members pursue their goals. There are a few other people whose names I will likely mix up since Iām relatively new here, so I canāt name all of them yet. However, they have been amazing, as well. Iām so glad I have joined this great addition to the local community. It is truly the people that make this gym special. Any gym can give you equipment and facility space. And many gyms may boast āfancyā amenities. However, those amenities arenāt usually going to be enough to make gym members decide to force themselves to come in on days that they donāt feel motivated. I have never heard anyone say āIām having trouble finding the motivation this week to go to the gym because it has been a stressful week. Iām glad that I like their shiny sparkly high-end bathroom and locker area as well as their bougie extra things, because thatās the secret ingredient that got me to go in at 6:40am on Monday morning before work!ā Thatās not realistic. However, if a gymās culture is such that thereās a sense of āhey, it was a rough week but my gym peers and the gym staff show up to make good things happen, so I can try, too,ā then it is more likely that the people who rush to sign up at a gym in January are still coming in regularly even past April, when most of the ātrendy resolutionsā have already failed for others. I go to this gym because their people energize me to want to do better for my own fitness goals. They are there because they want all of us to be awesome. So I can show up because I want to hold up my end of this teamwork. And I can even tell them frankly when I know Iām not at my best and say āI came in because I wanted to at least try to show up even when things arenāt going to be as good as they could have been on a better day. So just FYI, todayās goal for me is just to survive and get some exercises into my day. Iām not aiming for amazing today.ā When I have said that, people went along with it and didnāt expect perfection and recognized the fact that I had at least come in. That type of ability to relate to what the members needā¦.. this is what makes a gym successful, regardless of how many new and trendy flashy things a gym has. I am excited to see how they continue to grow after their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe location is nice but the contract is unethical and the auto payments are all over the place.
We were double charged $30 the first month for a $13 membership. My 23 year old was charged $80 a month for these first three months for his $13 membership. My daughter learned thereās a $15 late fee (for her $13 membership lol).
I understand annual fees, and even late fees- but all three of our accounts were supposed to be the same and all three have been charged vastly different things. I already read the responses āplease come to our location so we can address the concernā- we have done that multiple times already. After phone calls went nowhere, my son went up there a few times trying to figure it out and I finally went up there with my husband to try and do the same. The answer is a variation of a āI donāt knowā from a nice wide-eyes hourly worker that no one is trying to be short with because, duh, she doesnāt make the rules. The manager talked to her but avoided us. I wasnāt trying to Karen the situation with āwell let ME talk to the manager please since you canāt do anythingā because the honest answer (from a nice hourly employee or an avoidant manager either way) will be some level of āoh well. You signed a contract.ā
We had to call the banks, report it as fraud, block all payments, and just eat it. When it goes to collections weāll have to remember why itās smart to read the unhappy reviews. Iāve got the money to pay out the next month and cancel and I would if I thought it would be that easy. I 100% do NOT believe it will just stop there. Based on other similar reviews, they will continue to find ways to charge.
In sum: The location is nice, the contract is questionable, the autodrafts are snakey.
So pay attention to your bank account. They may refund you if you can prove they messed up, but they will not allow you out of a contract. Which is all we wanted. If had a friend who stole my money weād be over. Even if they said āsincerely sorryā. If I have a gym who steals my money it should be over. I have no interest in staying in a contract with an organization that has such a widespread reputation for being unethical- and yes, Crunch definitely has that reputation. I wish my husband and kids would have read the reviews thoroughly. Oh...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would not recommend going here. This place is owned by ABC Fitness not Crunch. I found that info on my own-they keep it quiet. For 6 months my account was charged and the gym remained closed and unable to be used. I reached out to the gym so many times and was always told they would call me back and never did. Iām told Keenan is the head manager there. Heās young and honestly doesnāt seem to care what his members do. Heās told me many times he would call me and never did. Heās dodging my calls now too. He said he would call corporate to get me a resolution to the billing and always just wants to blame corporate. So I called corporate myself since this has been going on for months now with no resolution. This is how I found out this gym is not owned by Crunch. According to corporate, theyāve been trying to reach Keenan to get this resolved but heās yet to respond to them either. Again, heās just a young guy in a big position which he shouldnāt be until he learns about customer service and doing his job. Looks like we will be switching gyms-Iām sure they donāt really care. They have plenty of members since you can get in for only $10 a month. Another reason why you should choose a gym that may cost more because you get a better experience and better customer care-but itās worth it! Bye Crunch aka ABC Fitness. Iām posting the phone number here for corporate. The gym will not give it out and it took a lot of leg work on my part to find it. Iād like to save others the headache as it seems in the other reviews Iāve read that people are having the same issues as me. Corporate number is eight hundred six two two six two nine zero. Update: I spoke with corporate yesterday. They informed me they have sent multiple emails and phone calls to the gym in Allen and have received no response back. They will give it a couple more days and will then proceed with a refund. This gym in Allen needs a new manager. Keenan does...
