2nd visit, unfortunately, not as great as the 1st. Went there for the 1st time last week and everything was phenomenal! Went there again tonight, for the 2nd time, and ordered the same basic dishes (combo rice, no onions or tomatoes + pineapple fried rice, no tomatoes). Food comes out and 1 was incorrect (it was pineapple fried rice, no onion, instead of combo fried rice, no onion or tomatoes). I mention such and it is taken back and brought back in 2-3 minutes without pineapple. I mentioned it still had tomatoes and in the process of taking it back a 2nd time I decide to go ahead and cancel the dish as I'm not very trusting of a plate with a food I'm allergic to not simply have the item picked off like it clearly just had happen. Not upset, mistakes happen. Manager comes up moments later and asks "whats the problem?" (I'm assuming the server had to inform them to be able to void out the dish, we definitely didn't ask to speak to a manager), so I explained what happened and conveyed I/we weren't upset, wanting to make a complaint, or anything like that. She offers to have the kitchen remake the dish and I decline, saying when a dish takes that long to cook, but only 2-3 minutes to entirely "remake", with half the amount it had the previous week, it's clear that it wasn't actually remade and the items were simply picked off and MAYBE reheated, I didn't want to trust it to not simply be picked off again given said item could easily cause an ER visit that costs thousands of dollars and takes several hours. (Ask me how I know). The manager stated she understood and, verbatim, that she would "comp the check". Again, I conveyed that we weren't upset or trying to verbalize a complaint bc the same server was PHENOMENAL the previous week and I chalked it up to mistakes happen.
I order another drink while I wait for my girlfriend to eat her food (which I had to insist on give she felt bad eating in front of me). When the server comes back we express, yet again, we're not upset or angry at her and that the manager approached us, we didn't ask to speak to her, and we'd assumed it was due to her having to explain why the dish needed to be voided.
When the check comes around, its the full check minus the dish that I declined. I mentioned to the server that the manager stated she was going to comp the check (due to this, expecting the plates to be comped and to pay for the drinks) but we wanted something on it so we could still tip her bc she was phenomenal both weeks and we understand shit happens. She says she'll speak to the manager about it and be right back.
The manager returns and states, "I took off the plate you ordered." At this point, I'm confused but we don't have a problem paying for the check so I just say, "Okay then" and we pay.
Out of the entire experience, that last part is the only reason I am even writing this review and also the only reason this business has lost 2 customers that were otherwise planning on being weekly regulars (bc the food IS good). We didn't request a manager and weren't expecting to have anything comped, but using the phrase "I'm going to comp the check" and turning it into "i took off the plate" is a HORRIBLE managerial move. You aren't going to charge me or any other person for an item they didn't receive after not only making a significant mistake on it, but the questionable management of the issue (simply picking off HALF of the items that were incorrectly added to it + the dish coming back 'half-filled' within a timeframe that could not logically remake that dish) in an industry where individuals may have anaphylactic reactions to the food item they're requesting to not be included on their dish is dastardly incompetent and brings the integrity of both the managerial staff and business as a whole in question.
If the manager had not sought out the problem, offer a solution, and then reneg on said solution, not only would we have paid the same amount we ended up paying, this review wouldn't have been written, and you wouldn't have lost 2...
Read moreNow let me tell you a story, I was at work doing air checks outside in the cold and rain pretty much all day. One of the customers turned out to be the owner of this place and as a tip gives me a free meal here. So the next day I decide to take him up on his offer and head over. I didn't say anything about the owner giving this to me and I got what the waitress recommended which was beef curry (forgot the name of it on the menu) since I'm not that familiar with thai food. Got my food and tried it, the meat was very tender and great with the curry sauce and rice. When I took a bite of it a thought ran through my head for the price that they are asking for this I might be used to larger portion sizes at other places but this is much more enjoyable than those other places, it's still enough to fill you and I don't have to worry about taking stuff home and it not tasting good when I reheat it. It was great! While I was finnishing up my food the owner found me I thanked him for meal and gave him the card he gave me he was about to let me keep it because it was also his business card but then he realized what I did (It would be a terrible idea to let someone hold on to a card that says free meal on it). The waitress didn't know I'm getting the food for free yet so she brought me the check after he left which I looked at the check because I was interested in what the price was told her that my meal was free and then because my meal was free tipped her half of what my bill would have been. Looking around other reviews it appears that not all of the items on the menu are as great so if you want to make sure you get something good just ask what they recommend, I used to work in food, after you been there for a while you kind of filter through what is the best food. Final thoughts: The owner is awesome, employees are great, food was quite a bit better than I thought it would be, and I will be...
Read moreUpdate: We were here on 12/31 for dinner and while I won't reduce my star rating we were very disappointed. Apparently management didn't think they'd be busy on New Years Eve, but they were. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant and she also had seat new customers and we saw her bussing tables. It took her quite a while to even know we were waiting to be seated. Eventually a line of customers were also waiting. The poor girl, Dee, was walking fast or running to try and keep up. When we finally got our food it was cold. Obviously it was ready for a long time before she had time bring it to us. I saw looks on other customers faces and I could see their frustration. This update is in no way anything against Dee or the rest of the crew that night. I blame the manager for not scheduling more people.
We went here for dinner on 6/23. When we went to sit down we saw some rice and other food particles on the table. We tried to pick them off but some were old dried up and stuck to the table. Seeing that I called someone over to clean the table. There was also small food particles on some of the chairs. We had been here many times and this was the first time we had seen that. Pretty gross especially when you consider the whole COVID-19 situation and the need for extra cleanliness. Regarding the food it was pretty good. I had the Panang Beef, see pictures. It tasted good but the temperature was lower than it should have been. Perhaps they should keep the plates hot so it keeps the food hot or at least warm. Other comments from others that were with me were also good some were ok. We will...
