I’m surprised when people say staff was friendly. Maybe I didn’t get lucky with who wasn’t there. I came to this location on September 26,2018 at roughly around 7ish pm. I’m not normally from this area or normally I’d be at towne center mall. When I came in,no one was there. Later a bigger built man stepped out but had nothing to say. I sparked yo conversation and started asking on how prices are established for all the Funko pops. I always have my pop price guide pulled up on my phone so all the ones I was interested in, where much more expensive on the shelves than they where on any website including shipping. I had asked for any sales and got a flat “nope”. I also inquired about military discount with and got another flat out “nope.”
I could tell her was getting irritated at all my questions and I was getting irritated at his attitude. I had even seen an Arbiter pop prices a third above what I could get new on amazon WITH a sleeve protector. After further questioning he became rude and said “I’m not going to sit here and argue with you, if you want pops at a better price, you can go around the corner to the main entrance of the mall and get them from GameStop.” I was very surprised to receive this type of service considering the fact that I’ve worked with social relations my entire civilian career. At the end, I tried to still be polite, bought two pops and three sleeves since I did stay in the store a while comparing all the pops. ALL of which priced 7 to 15 dollars higher than even appraised. I ended up getting clearance ones that where exact price as appraised but I didn’t feel the need to pay shipping. I still told him to have a goodnight and drive carefully since it was raining.
I’m not sure what was his deal that night, but I will be staying away from there. I know I don’t make a single dent on their GP since selling overpriced toys is how they stay open, but I sure don’t feel the need to be there again. I ended up buying $60 worth upstairs at HOT TOPIC. 3/10. Large selection, extrneky poor customer...

I happened upon this store while funko hunting in the mall, One of the associates at Hot Topic told me about this store because they had a huge variety of pops. I walked into My Toy Chest and was initially impressed by they massive amounts of pops. The young lady did warn me about their pricing. She stated that they sold pops at market value not retail value, this wasn't an issue until I started doing my research while I was there via the funko app and pop price guide. Most of the pops that I looked at where well over market value. This still wasn't too much of an issue because I did find some reasonably priced pops.
The major problem that I had was that the lady who worked there told me about some grails and rare pops they kept behind the counter. I noticed a Mark Hamill 27 with a designercon sticker on it and it was priced at $55 dollars. I asked the lady if I could inspect it and she said sure. The pop was in a hard plastic protector. I was ready to purchase it until I looked close at the green designercon sticker which looked as if it was peeled up on to corners. With the case on I couldn't physically touch the sticker but I could see that is was altered or moved. I still wanted the pop so I scanned the barcode in the funko app and sure enough it pulled up a $25 dollar pop with Mark in a black shirt. There is another version which has a white shirt that's valued at $50.
The lady told me that they buy and sell pops so they probably purchased that from someone. You can't tell me that you don't know that something is not valued that high if you're "always doing your research". Selling at market plus is very overwhelming when it looks like it's all about the profit and the reality is if you look around you can find most of those pops at retail...for instance they had the funko exclusive diecast Wonder woman for $65 while they're in stock on funko...
Read moreI’m only giving them two stars because they do have a nice selection of rare or exclusive pops, but for customer service and pricing I wish I could give them negative stars. I walked into the store over fifteen minutes before close, and I was abruptly informed the store was about to close. The lady was clearly rushing me, yet gave another family a lot of attention. After I found what I went in for, I went and stood by the register while the employee continued to help said family. I wasn’t annoyed or in a rush, so when they came up to check out I stood back. As soon as the lady was finished checking them out, she turned to me and informed me “she couldn’t help me anymore because the store was closed”. Completely ignoring the fact I was standing their with product to buy and had been waiting the whole time she helped the other family. This is a terrible way to get or keep customers if you ask me. Not to mention a lot of the stuff sold in their store you’re able to buy for significantly cheaper in stores just a walking distance from this one, not to mention...
